The Necromancer (comics)
''The Necromancer'' is a comic book published by the Top Cow imprint of Image Comics. The comic was written by science fiction author and comic writer Joshua Ortega, with art on the first series by Francis Manapul. Publication history ''Necromancer'' was originally announced back in 2001 with Top Cow president Matt Hawkins as the writer and Brian Ching on art chores. ''Necromancer'' returned in the 2007 " Pilot Season" program from Top Cow. Ortega provided the script and Jonboy Meyers took over on art, as Manapul was on exclusive contract to DC. Top Cow Productions is an American comics publisher, an imprint of Image Comics founded by Marc Silvestri in 1992. A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by descriptive prose and written narrative, usually, dialogue contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form. Newsarama is an American website that publishes news, interviews, and essays about the American comic book industry. It is owned by Future US. In June 2020, Newsarama was merged with the website GamesRadar+, also owned by FutureUS. History Newsarama began in mid-1995 as a series of Internet forum postings on the Prodigy comic book message boards by fan Mike Doran. In the forum postings, Doran shared comic book-related news items he had found across the World Wide Web and, as these postings became more regular and read widely, he gave them the title "Prodigy Comic Book Newswire." Brian Ching (artist)
Brian Ching (born May 24, 1978) is an American former professional soccer player who played for twelve years in Major League Soccer and represented the U.S. national team for eight years. Ching's professional career began when he was the 16th pick overall by the Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2001 MLS SuperDraft, making him the first Gonzaga player and the first player from his native Hawaii selected in the MLS draft. After winning the U.S. Open Cup with Los Angeles, Ching was released from the team and played with the second division Seattle Sounders. He returned to first division soccer when the San Jose Earthquakes acquired him in the 2003 MLS Supplemental Draft. He won an MLS Cup and Supporters' Shield with the Earthquakes, collected the MLS Comeback Player of the Year Award, the MLS Golden Boot, and was named to the MLS Best XI. Matthew Hawkins (born 30 March 1983) is a South African born, former American rugby union player and former coach of the United States sevens team. Playing career Hawkins played loose forward for the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club when he first arrived in the U.S., and helped the team win the 2006 national Super League title. In 2007 Hawkins was selected to the United States national rugby sevens team pool. He made his first appearance for the USA Eagles at the 2008 New Zealand and USA stops of the World Rugby Sevens Series.
