The Neales (band)
The Neales are a British, four part family harmony group made up of three brothers and their father. The family band reached the final of '' Britain's Got Talent 2015'', moving Simon Cowell to tears on live television with their semi-final performance of Cat Stevens' "Father and Son". In June 2016, The Neales released their self-penned debut single, " I'll Be There", which entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 22 in its first week, and knocked Adele off No. 1 in the Official UK Independent Singles Chart. During the following week, "I'll Be There" peaked at No. 6 in the UK Singles Chart's midweek update, before charting for a second week at No. 31. The Neales are made up of father Laurie Neale, and brothers James Neale, Dan Neale and Phil Neale. Britain's Got Talent (series 9)
The ninth series of British talent competition programme ''Britain's Got Talent'' was broadcast on ITV, from 11 April to 31 May 2015. The series saw the "Wildcard" format introduced in the sixth series being modified in this series to include a "Public Wildcard" – like the "Judges' Wildcard" any act eliminated in the semi-finals, primarily those that lost out in the Judges' vote, could be reinstated by the public, based on the one that received the most votes from them before the final. Although speculations and rumours began to emerge after the previous series ended, claiming that some of the judges would be leaving before the ninth series, these were later dismissed as being unfounded by ITV, on 16 January 2015. "Father and Son" is a popular song written and performed by English singer-songwriter Cat Stevens (now known as Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens) on his 1970 album ''Tea for the Tillerman''. The song frames a heartbreaking exchange between a father not understanding a son's desire to break away and shape a new life, and the son who cannot really explain himself but knows that it is time for him to seek his own destiny. Stevens sings in a deeper register for the father's lines, while using a higher one for those of the son. Background and production The Neales - made up of father Laurie Neale and his three sons James, Dan and Phil - reached the Britain's Got Talent final in 2015, where they sang a cover of the Cat Stevens song "Father and Son". After competing in the talent show, they penned the charity single "I'll Be There" to raise money for the National Charity Partnership.
