Herbert Blaché
Herbert Blaché (5 October 1882 – 23 October 1953), born Herbert Reginald Gaston Blaché-Bolton was a British-born American film director, producer and screenwriter, born of a French father. He directed more than 50 films between 1912 and 1929. Biography Blaché was born in London, England. His father was a French hatmaker originally from Mont-de-Marsan, while his mother was an English actress, Elizabeth Bolton. In 1907 he married filmmaking pioneer Alice Guy, head of production with the French Gaumont Film Company. Their marriage meant that Alice had to resign from her position working with Gaumont. Henry Hebert
Henry Herbert (c. 1879 – 20 February 1947) was an English film, stage actor and producer, who became well known in the United States. Biography Herbert appears to have commenced his early career with Ben Greet's Company, and with Sir Frank Benson; for some years he managed Benson's No.2 Company on tour, as well as playing leading parts. On 22 April 1911, he directed Basil Rathbone in his first appearance on stage at the Theatre Royal, Ipswich, as Hortensio in ''The Taming of the Shrew''. In 1912 he went to the U.S. and appeared at the Lyceum Theatre (New York) on 9 September as Captain Jeyes in ''The 'Mind-the-Paint' Girl'', and from March to May 1916 he appeared (with Sir Herbert Tree) at the New Amsterdam Theatre, New York, as Griffith and the Jester in Shakespeare's ''King Henry VIII'', Tubal in ''The Merchant of Venice'', and Dr. Caius in ''The Merry Wives of Windsor''. Alfred Allen (April 8, 1866 – June 18, 1947) was an American silent film actor and author. Early life Allen was born in Alfred, New York. His parents were Jonathan Macomber Allen (1823-1892), president of Alfred University, and Abigail Ann (Maxson) Allen (1824-1894). Alfred's siblings were William (b. 1853), Eva (b. 1856), and May (b. 1860). He attended Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, Columbia University, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the New England Conservatory of Music and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at Alfred University. Film Allen was signed in 1915 and starred in 106 films before his retirement in 1935. Jed Prouty (born Clarence Gordon Prouty; April 6, 1879 – May 10, 1956) was an American film actor. Biography Born as Clarence Gordon Prouty in Boston, Massachusetts, Prouty was a vaudeville performer before becoming a film actor. Mostly appearing in comedies, he occasionally performed a serious character role, for instance a small part as an oily publicist in '' A Star is Born'' (1937). After a significant career in silent films, a large part of Prouty's later career was the Jones Family film series.
