''The Muppets Go to the Movies'' is a one-hour television special starring Jim Henson's Muppets. It first aired May 20, 1981 on ABC as promotion for ''The Great Muppet Caper'', which was released in the United States a month later. Miss Piggy is one of the Muppet characters known for her breakout role in Jim Henson's ''The Muppet Show''. Since her debut in 1976, Miss Piggy has been notable for her temperamental diva superstar personality, tendency to use French phrases in her speech, and practice of karate. ''The Scarlet Pimpernel'' is the first novel in a series of historical fiction by Baroness Orczy, published in 1905. Milton "Gummo" Marx (October 23, 1892 – April 21, 1977) was an American vaudevillian performer, actor, comedian, and theatrical agent. He was the second youngest of the five Marx Brothers. Scooter is a Muppet character known for being the backstage stage manager, utility stage crew member, and general all-around "gofer" on ''The Muppet Show.'' Statler and Waldorf are a pair of Muppet characters best known for their cantankerous opinions and shared penchant for heckling.
