''The Moromete Family'' ( ro, Moromeții) is a 1987 Romanian drama film based on the first volume of the eponymous novel by Marin Preda. A sequel was filmed in 2017. Stere Gulea
Stere Gulea (born 2 August 1943) is a Romanian film director and screenwriter. He was born in Mihail Kogălniceanu commune, Constanța County, in an Aromanian family that had fled from the Kaliakra region of Southern Dobruja during the 1940 population exchange between Bulgaria and Romania. After attending high school Constanța, Gulea studied philology at the Pedagogical Institute of Constanța and then pursued his studies at the I.L. Caragiale Institute of Theatre and Film Arts (IATC) in Bucharest, graduating in 1970. He made his film director debut that year with ' ("The Water Like a Black Buffalo"); this documentary movie, done in collaboration with his IATC colleagues, Dan Pița and Mircea Veroiu, record the catastrophic 1970 floods in Romania. AGERPRES () is the national news agency of Romania. History The National News Agency "AGERPRES" is the oldest Romanian news agency and the first autonomous agency in Romania. It was established in March 1889 at the initiative of Foreign Minister Petre P. Carp, as the Telegraph Agency of Romania or Romanian Agency with serving as a "fast and accurate service of all general or special interest news". The Telegraph Agency of Romania was suspended from the end of 1916 until the end of World War I. Florin Zamfirescu (; born 12 April 1949) is a Romanian theatre and film actor and director, and university professor. Zamfirescu was born in Călimănești, Vâlcea County; his grandfather, Gheorghe Zamfirescu, was mayor of the town. He graduated from the Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest in 1971. From 1971 to 1973, he was an actor in the Municipal Theatre of Târgu Mureș, and subsequently moved to the Odeon Theatre in Bucharest. From 1974 to 1978 he was an instructor Caragiale National University; in 1996 he became a professor, and from 2000 to 2008 he served as rector of the university. In 2002 he received Ph.D. in Arts, with thesis "Acting or Magic". In 2014 he was let go from the Odeon Theatre by its director, . Dorel Vișan (; born 25 June 1937) is a Romanian actor. He has appeared in 65 films since 1974. He was nominated for the award of Best Actor at the 1988 European Film Awards. He was born in Tăușeni, Cluj County. In 1965 he graduated from the Caragiale Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography in Bucharest. Victor Rebengiuc (; known in full as Victor-George Rebengiuc; born 10 February 1933) is a Romanian film and stage actor, also known as a civil society activist. Since 1957, he has been a member of the Bulandra Theater company, acting in more than 200 roles on that stage alone. ''Adevărul'' (; meaning "The Truth", formerly spelled ''Adevĕrul'') is a Romanian daily newspaper, based in Bucharest. Founded in Iași, in 1871, and reestablished in 1888, in Bucharest, it was the main left-wing press venue to be published during the Romanian Kingdom's existence, adopting an independent pro- democratic position, advocating land reform, and demanding universal suffrage.
