The Millionaire (1950 Film)
''El Millioner'' (Arabic-المليونير) or The Millionaire is one of the Egyptian comedies released in 1950. It was directed as a black and white movie by Helmy Rafla and starred the famous Ismail Yassine, Plot A millionaire named Assem El Estleeny (Ismail Yassine) with all of the riches gets stuck in a murder case. So in order to flee, he finds a man who looks exactly like him, Gmeez Asal (also played by Ismail Yassine). Gmeez Asal backs up for Asseem while he gets away for a week. Helmy Rafla
Helmy Rafla (May 15, 1909 – April 22, 1978; ar, حلمي رفلة) was an Egyptian film director, screenwriter, film producer, and make-up artist. He is considered one the most prominent Egyptian filmmakers. Biography Helmy Rafla was born on 15 May 1909 in the Kingdom of Egypt. Rafla did make-up for actress Umm Kulthum in many of her films, which allowed him travel to France to learn the art of make-up. After he returned to Cairo, businessman Talaat Harb asked Rafla to work as an assistant to some foreigners from Europe that were working at Studio Misr, a Cairo-based film studio established by Harb. Rafla continued to work in Studio Misr, until 1936 when the Egyptian Ministry of Education announced they were dispatching Egyptians to France and England in order to learn more about the art of theatre and cinema, including cosmetology. Ismail Yassine
Ismail Yassine (also credited as ''Ismail Yasseen''; ar, إسماعيل ياسين ; 15 September 1912 - 24 May 1972) was an Egyptian comedian actor, and is considered as one of the greatest comedians in Egypt. Personal life Ismail Yassine had a difficult childhood in Suez where he was born. His mother died at an early age and his father was jailed thus forcing him to leave school before completing his primary education. He worked as a parking valet to support himself. Career He started his career as a monologue singer and headed for Cairo after Abo El Seoud El Ebiary, the comic screenwriter and his best friend and life partner had discovered him and had helped him to join Badi'a Masabny's troupe. His break into the movie industry came when Fouad El-Gazaery gave him his first role in the movie "Khalf El-Habayeb" in 1939. Zeinat Sedki
Zeinat Sedki (May 4, 1912 - March 2, 1978) was an Egyptian actress and comedian. She was one of the female comedy pioneers in the Egyptian cinema along with Mary Mounib and Widad Hamdi. Biography Zeinat Zedki was born Zeinab Mohamed Mosaad the May 4, 1912 in Alexandria, Egypt. She married a much older man at the age of 15 after her father forced her to drop out of school. She divorced a year later. after the death of her father, she began her career as a belly dancer, and joined an association of artists in the early 1930s. She ran away from home and joined a comedy theater troupe formed by Naguib el-Rihani where she performed a range of successful plays, among which was The Egyptian Pound (el Guineih el Masrî) in 1931. El-Rihani gave her the stage name Zeinat Sedki instead of her birth name Zeinab Mohamed Saad. Salah Mansour ( ar, صلاح منصور, ), (Feb 03, 1923 – Jan 19, 1979) was an Egyptian movie actor known for his roles in ''Lan A'taref'' and ''Al-Zawga Al-Thaneya''.
