The Midnight (EP)
''The Midnight'' is the third EP released by electronica duo Lemon Jelly, according to the insert of ''Lemonjelly.ky'', on 17 July 2000. It was limited to 1,000 copies, the first 200 of which featured hand screen-printed sleeves. The tracks from the EP were later incorporated for more accessible listening into the critically acclaimed ''Lemonjelly.ky'' album. The cover had silver foil stamped on the inner sleeve and die-cut holes in the outer sleeve so when the record was pulled out of its sleeve, the stars twinkled in the night sky. History From 1998 to 2000, Franglen and Deakin released three limited-circulation EPs ('' The Bath'' (1998), ''The Yellow'' (1999), and ''The Midnight'' (2000)) on their very own label, Impotent Fury. Lemon Jelly
Lemon Jelly is a British electronic music duo from London that formed in 1998 and went on hiatus starting in 2008. Since its inception, the band members have always been Fred Deakin and Nick Franglen. Lemon Jelly has been nominated for awards like the Mercury Music Prize and BRIT Awards. The bright colourful artwork featured in the albums and music videos, and the Lemon Jelly typeface, became part of the "brand". Deakin and Franglen briefly met in north London as teenagers and became friends before going their separate ways: Deakin became a DJ and co-founded Airside studios; Franglen became a studio programmer. The two became reacquainted in 1998 and created the group Lemon Jelly. ''The Yellow'' is the name of the second EP released by electronica duo Lemon Jelly, according to the insert of ''Lemonjelly.ky'', on 6 September 1999. It was limited to 1,000 10" copies, the first 240 of which featured hand screen-printed sleeves. Nick Franglen
Nick Franglen (born 1965 in Westminster, London) is a British musician, record producer and installation artist. He is best known as a founding member of the electronic music duo Lemon Jelly. Music composition and production A classically trained musician and multi-instrumentalist, during the 1990s Franglen played keyboards, electronic instruments and drum programming on studio recordings with Björk, Primal Scream, Hole, Pulp and Blur, amongst others. As well as co-writing all of Lemon Jelly's music, he produced their first self-released recordings in 1997, and went on to produce all three Lemon Jelly albums released on XL Recordings. He also has produced records for other musicians, including John Cale, Badly Drawn Boy, Mark Fry and Colin MacIntyre. He has remixed tracks for Coldcut and Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo. Lani Hall (born November 6, 1945) is an American singer, lyricist, and author. From 1966 to 1971 she performed as lead vocalist for Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66. In 1972 Hall released her first solo album, ''Sun Down Lady''. She may be best known, however, for providing the most recognizable (female) face and (female) vocal signature sound to Sérgio's group during her tenure there, and for her rendition of the theme song to the 1983 James Bond film, ''Never Say Never Again'', with its accompanying video, in which she prominently appears. John Paul Jones (musician)
John Richard Baldwin (born 3 January 1946), better known by his stage name John Paul Jones, is an English musician, composer and record producer who was the bassist and keyboardist for the rock band Led Zeppelin. Prior to forming the band with Jimmy Page in 1968, he was a session musician and arranger. After the death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, Led Zeppelin disbanded, and Jones developed a solo career. He has collaborated with musicians across a variety of genres, including the supergroup Them Crooked Vultures with Dave Grohl and Josh Homme. The lemon (''Citrus limon'') is a species of small evergreen trees in the flowering plant family Rutaceae, native to Asia, primarily Northeast India (Assam), Northern Myanmar or China. The tree's ellipsoidal yellow hesperidium, fruit is used for culinary and non-culinary purposes throughout the world, primarily for its juice, which has both culinary and cleaning uses. The pulp and peel (fruit), rind are also used in cooking and baking. The juice of the lemon is about 5% to 6% citric acid, with a pH of around 2.2, giving it a sour taste.
