The Mega And The Songwriter
''The Mega and the Songwriter'' is an interactive musical variety talk show produced by the TV5 Entertainment Group which airs every Sunday at on TV5. It hosted by Sharon Cuneta and Ogie Alcasid. The show features several music guests ranging from established acts to veteran singers. The show features various segments that encourages viewers to interact with the show through various social networking sites. History Launched on September 15, 2013, it is one of the 8 newly launched weekend programs under the "Weekend Do It Better" block of the network. The show is also Alcasid's first project under the channel following his transfer from GMA Network on August 6. Last November 10, 2013, TMTS broadcast live for the first time; conducting a 5-hour live telethon special dedicated to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. Herminio Jose Lualhati "Ogie" Alcasid Jr. (; born August 27, 1967) is a Filipino singer-songwriter, television presenter, comedian, parodist, and actor. He is currently the President of OPM (Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-Aawit). Early career Ogie is a former batch member of the all-male singing group '' Kundirana'' batch 1984 after Gary Valenciano. His first album was released in 1989. His debut movie was ''Feel Na Feel'' released by Regal Entertainment in 1990. In 1991, Ogie made his VIVA films debut movie, ''Pitong Gamol''. Television career Alcasid's television career started as one of the hosts of comedy show ''Small Brothers'' on ABS-CBN in 1992. TV5 (also known as 5 and formerly known as ABC) is a Philippine free-to-air television network based in Mandaluyong, with its alternate studios located in Novaliches, Quezon City.
