''The Mark of the Angels – Miserere'' (french: La marque des anges – Miserere) is a 2013 French thriller film directed by Sylvain White and based on Jean-Christophe Grangé's 2008 novel '. Headlined by Gérard Depardieu and JoeyStarr, the film is the fifth adaptation of a Grangé novel after '' The Crimson Rivers'', '' Empire of the Wolves'', '' The Stone Council'' and '' Flight of the Storks'' and the first for which Grangé himself did not collaborate on the screenplay. Instead, the novel was adapted by '' La Proie'' and '' La chance de ma vie'' co-writers Laurent Turner and in collaboration with director White and Yann Mège (''Paris enquêtes criminelles''). The film, which benefitted from a large budget, deals with a series of mysterious murders, Nazism, private military companies and child abuse. Sylvain White (born 21 December 1971) is a French film director and screenwriter. Life and career White attended Pomona College, graduating in 1998. He debuted his feature film, ''Stomp the Yard'', at number one in the US. He went on to direct the action comedy '' The Losers'', starring Chris Evans, Idris Elba and Zoe Saldana. He wrote and directed the French murder mystery film ''The Mark of the Angels'', starring Gérard Depardieu. The Stone Council
''The Stone Council'' (french: Le Concile de pierre) is a 2006 French thriller film. Based on a novel by Jean-Christophe Grangé the film depicts an inter-continental, mystical conspiracy unfolding following the adoption of a boy from Mongolia. Plot Bellucci plays Diane Siprien, a translator, who adopts a Mongolian child name Liu-San with the help of her friend Sybille. Years later, a bruise appears on the boy's chest, and the two women suffer nightmares. Diane is dispatched on assignment, and Liu goes comatose while in Sybille's temporary care. He begins speaking in an unknown tongue. As Diane tries to place the language, mysterious murders began occurring in her orbit. She discovers the boy comes from an ancient, mystic Mongolian tribe — the Tseven — who want the boy returned to them for a religious prophecy involving the Council of the Stone.
