James Leo Meehan
James Leo Meehan (1891 – 1943) was an American film director and screenwriter.Munden p. 411 He married the daughter of writer Gene Stratton-Porter, and adapted several of his mother-in-law's novels for the screen. He directed ''Campus Sweethearts'' (US 1930 RKO, 27 min, only shown at State Lake, Chicago - Natural Vision also shown in 35 mm) starring Rudy Vallee with Ginger Rogers among the cast. It is one of the early wide-gauge films. Alfred Allen (April 8, 1866 – June 18, 1947) was an American silent film actor and author. Early life Allen was born in Alfred, New York. His parents were Jonathan Macomber Allen (1823-1892), president of Alfred University, and Abigail Ann (Maxson) Allen (1824-1894). Alfred's siblings were William (b. 1853), Eva (b. 1856), and May (b. 1860). He attended Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, Columbia University, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the New England Conservatory of Music and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at Alfred University. Film Allen was signed in 1915 and starred in 106 films before his retirement in 1935. Earl McCarthy (born 8 February 1969) is a retired male freestyle swimmer from Ireland. He competed for his native country at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia in the 100m and 200m freestyle. Earl was the Women In Sport Manager for Swim Ireland in 2008. He is a former Irish Olympian in swimming (Atlanta 1996), previous Irish record holder and National Irish Champion in the 100m & 200m freestyle events. In 2003 he became the oldest male winner of a national title, winning the Men's 100m freestyle. In addition, Earl has over ten years of coaching experience both in Germany and in Ireland. Earl holds a First Class Honour Degree in Sports Management from University College Dublin and a postgraduate diploma in Law from King's Inn. Earl's hometown is Dublin, where he currently resides.
