Rosemary Davies
Rosemary Davies (born Rose Douras; June 8, 1895 – September 20, 1963) was an American actress. Life Born Rose Douras in Brooklyn, New York, she was the sister of the actresses Marion Davies and Reine Davies but did not reach the same fame as her two sisters. However, her name was mentioned in different circles briefly when she was said to be the mother of Patricia Lake by her first husband, George Barnes Van Cleve. After the death of Patricia Lake, Lake's family announced that Lake was in fact the daughter of Marion Davies and William Randolph Hearst, born secretly during a trip abroad between 1920 and 1923. Davies, who had little film experience, was selected to play the title role in the film ''Alice'', which began production in 1924. Davies married Louis Adlon who was an American, German-born motion picture actor. He died March 31, 1947. Mary Thurman
Mary Thurman (née Christiansen; April 27, 1895 – December 22, 1925) was an American actress of the silent film era. Early life Mary Christiansen was born in Richfield, Utah on April 27, 1895, one of seven children raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her parents were Christian Christiansen and Mary Sophia Nielsen Christiansen, who were both Danish, her father having been born in Denmark. She attended the University of Utah and became a teacher before turning to acting. Thurman married Victor E. Thurman, son of Utah Supreme Court justice Samuel R. Thurman, in 1915. They divorced in 1919. Career Thurman's film career began with roles in the comedies of Mack Sennett, as one of the Sennett Bathing Beauties, and featured appearances in ''Bombs!'' (1916) and ''The Fool'' (1925). Her greatest success came when she started working with director Allan Dwan. __NOTOC__ Charlotte Ganahl Walker (December 20, 1876March 23, 1958) was a Broadway theater actress. Early life Charlotte Ganahl Walker was born on December 20, 1876, in Galveston, Texas to Edwin A. Walker (1849–1889) and Charlisa (De Ganahl) Walker (1855–1934). Stage actress Walker made her stage debut as a teen in 1893. At nineteen 1895 she performed in London, England in a comedy called ''The Mummy'' and in the same year performed with Richard Mansfield. Later, she returned to her native Texas after marrying and had two children. In 1900, she made her Broadway debut in ''Miss Prinnt''. She returned to the stage in 1901 and appeared with James A. Lester Lang was an American cinematographer known for lensing several of Oscar Micheaux's films in the 1930s. Biography Lester was born in Union City, New Jersey, to John Lang and Elizabeth Frank. He married Lillian Sutherland, and the pair had three children together. She died suddenly in 1942. He worked as a photographer for 22 years at New York race tracks, and was one of the early cinematographers working in the film industry in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
