The Loved Ones (EP)
''The Loved Ones'' is an EP by the American punk rock band The Loved Ones (American band), The Loved Ones. It was released on February 22, 2005 by Jade Tree Records, who had previously released albums by Trial by Fire (band), Trial by Fire and Kid Dynamite (band), Kid Dynamite, bands the members of The Loved Ones formerly played in. The EP was the band's first release through a label, as they previously only self-released a four-song demo. Two of the songs on this EP, "Chicken" and "Candy Cane", were also on that demo. The band followed this with their debut album, ''Keep Your Heart'', which was released just over a year later. That album featured "100K" which originally appeared on this EP. The Loved Ones (American Band)
The Loved Ones are an American punk band based out of Philadelphia. Founded in late 2003, the band consists of Dave Hause (lead vocals, guitar), David Walsh (guitar), Chris Gonzalez (bass/guitar), Michael Cotterman (bass) and Mike Sneeringer (drums). They are presently signed to Fat Wreck Chords. The band never officially disbanded. But in addition to members doing other projects, the band had little activity from 2010 through 2016, when they went on a ten-year anniversary tour. History The band was formed in late 2003 by Dave Hause, whose band The Curse had just broken up although he was still in Paint It Black. He was joined by Michael "Spider" Cotterman, formerly the bassist for Kid Dynamite (band) who Hause used to roadie for, and Michael Sneeringer, drummer from Trial by Fire. Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. Jade Tree International, Inc. is an independent record label formed by Darren Walters and Tim Owen in 1990 in Wilmington, Delaware. History Origin (1987–1990) In 1987, Tim Owen and Darren Walters were introduced during a punk show in Washington, D.C. At the time, Walters was a student at the University of Delaware where he had already independently released records on his label, Hi-Impact Records. To further these musical pursuits, Darren teamed up with Rochester Institute of Technology student Tim Owen, and his friend Carl Hedgepath. Together, they created their own label, Axtion Packed Records. Both Axtion Packed and Hi-Impact focused on straight edge hardcore and produced vinyl records in 45 format. In an effort to expand musical genres and format, Axtion Packed Records was dissolved in 1990 to form Jade Tree Records. ''Keep Your Heart'' is the full-length debut studio album by the punk rock band The Loved Ones. It was released on February 21, 2006 by Fat Wreck Chords. Among the 13 tracks on the album, one, "100K", originally appeared on their EP, '' The Loved Ones'' from the year before and two, "Jane" and "Arsenic" originally appeared on their self-released demo from 2004. Also, "Benson and Hedges" was originally done by The Curse, which was a band Dave Hause was in before The Loved Ones. Kid Dynamite (band)
Kid Dynamite was an American, Philadelphia-based hardcore punk band. They formed in 1997 and broke up in 2000, while reuniting sporadically since then until 2013. They were signed to Jade Tree Records. History Kid Dynamite was formed in 1997 by drummer Dave Wagenschutz and guitarist Dan Yemin, who had both played in the influential New Jersey band Lifetime. After their dissolution, Yemin expressed interest in forming a new band. He called friend Steve Ferrell to fill the role as the bassist and Wagenschutz on drums, rounding out the rhythm section. They then went into the studio to record the music for what would become their first demo. After trying out multiple singers, they settled on Jason Shevchuk, who previously sang for straight edge band Bound. With this lineup intact, Jason added vocals over the music the band previously recorded, naming the demo 'Six Songs With Jay Singing'. Singing is the act of creating musical sounds with the voice. A person who sings is called a singer, artist or vocalist (in jazz and/or popular music). Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Since the mid-1950s, the bass guitar has largely replaced the double bass in popular music. The four-string bass is usually tuned the same as the double bass, which corresponds to pitches one octave lower than the four lowest-pitched strings of a guitar (typically E, A, D, and G).
