''The Love Experience'' is the debut studio album by American singer Raheem DeVaughn. It was released on June 28, 2005 by Jive Records. DeVaughn who wrote or co-wrote every track on the album, worked with a variety of musicians on the album, including Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez, Andreao Fanatic" Heard, Terry Hunter, and K-Murdock, among others. The album cover was photographed by Daniel Hastings, who was known primarily for his work on seminal 1990's East Coast hip hop albums. Upon its release, the album earned largely positive reviews from music critics. Netting sales of 250,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan, it reached number 9 on ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and number 46 on the US ''Billboard'' 200. In support of the album, Jive issued several singles, including lead single "Guess Who Loves You More" as well as follow-up "Believe" and "You," with "Guess Who Loves You More" reaching the top forty of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. O'Kelly Isley
O'Kelly "Kelly" Isley Jr. (December 25, 1937 – March 31, 1986) was an American singer and one of the founding members of the family group the Isley Brothers. Biography The eldest of the Isley Brothers, Kelly started singing with his brothers at church. When he was 16, he and his three younger brothers (Rudy, Ronnie and Vernon) formed The Isley Brothers and toured the gospel circuit. Following the death of Vernon in a road accident, the brothers decided to try their hand at doo-wop and moved to New York to find a recording deal. Between 1957 and 1959, the Isleys would record for labels such as Teenage and Mark X. In 1959, they signed with RCA Records after a scout spotted the trio's energetic live performance. Ernest Isley (born March 7, 1952) is an American musician, best known as a member of the musical ensemble The Isley Brothers, and also the splinter group Isley-Jasper-Isley. Biography Ernie was born in Cincinnati, where his older brothers formed The Isley Brothers, first as a gospel group, then as a secular singing group. In 1960, his family moved to Englewood/Teaneck, New Jersey. He attended Dwight Morrow High School. He resides in St. Louis, Missouri. Ernie started playing drums at 12. Ronald Isley (; born May 21, 1941) is an American recording artist, songwriter, record producer, and occasional actor. Isley is the lead singer and founding member of the family music group The Isley Brothers. Juicy was an American musical duo consisting of siblings Jerry Barnes and Katreese Barnes. The group is best known for the songs "Sugar Free" and ''Beat Street'' feature song "Beat Street Strut". Career Their debut single "Don't Cha Wanna" was released in 1982 by Arista Records. In the same year they also released their first eponymous album, which made it into Billboard R&B chart the next year. In 1984, their song "Beat Street Strut", released by the same label, appeared in the 1984 musical-drama movie ''Beat Street'' and its gold-certified soundtrack. The song peaked at #46 on ''Billboard'' Dance chart in July 1984. Their second album ''It Takes Two'' was released in 1985. Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez (born July 5, 1970), also sometimes known as K-Dope, is an American record producer and disc jockey. He is one half of the classic house music Masters at Work musical production team with Little Louie Vega; and also released the hit " The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall into My Mind)" as The Bucketheads. He has been referred to as one of the most prolific artists of the modern music age. Biography Gonzalez started his DJ career in 1985 organizing neighborhood block parties in his home of Brooklyn, New York, with his then musical partner, Mike Delgado. Under the Masters at Work moniker, the parties became quite successful and attracted Todd Terry who later borrowed the group's name for two record releases. Terry returned the favor at a later date when he loaned Gonzalez a drum machine, which began his interest in producing beats. Robert Louis DeBarge, Jr. (March 5, 1956 – August 16, 1995) was an American singer and musician. DeBarge was the lead singer of the Motown R&B/soul vocal group Switch and was noted for his falsetto vocals. Later on, he served as both mentor and a co-producer of his siblings' band, DeBarge, eventually joining them to fill in for departing members El and Bunny. Personal problems, including substance abuse which eventually led to drug trafficking charges in 1988, plagued DeBarge in later years, taking focus away from his musical career.
