The Looters (1955 Film)
''The Looters'' is a 1955 American adventure film directed by Abner Biberman and written by Richard Alan Simmons. The film stars Rory Calhoun, Julie Adams, Ray Danton, Thomas Gomez, Frank Faylen and Russ Conway. The film was released in May 1955, by Universal Pictures. Plot A group of plane crash survivors try to find refuge in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Two mercenaries, Peter and Jesse, set out on their trail with the intention of bringing them to safety. But Peter is lured by the belongings left in the plane and plans a real robbery against the survivors with final elimination of all witnesses. Abner Biberman
Abner Warren Biberman (April 1, 1909 – June 20, 1977) was an American actor, director, and screenwriter. Early years Biberman was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, later moving to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He gained early acting experience as a student at the Tome School for Boys prep school. He also attended the University of Pennsylvania. Career He was sometimes credited under the pseudonym Joel Judge. Death Biberman died at his home in San Diego, California. His obituary in ''The New York Times'' gave his age as 69. He was survived by his wife and three sons. John Stephenson (actor)
John Winfield Stephenson (August 9, 1923 – May 15, 2015) was an American actor, most active in voice-over roles. He has also been credited as John Stevenson. Stephenson never gave any interviews and was rarely seen in public, although he did make an appearance at BotCon 2001. Early life Stephenson was from Kenosha, Wisconsin, the oldest son of Ray and Martha Stephenson. He went to Ripon College and was active in campus drama. Stephenson wanted to be a lawyer and studied at the University of Wisconsin Law School. After serving in the United States Army Air Forces, as a gunner and radio operator, during World War II, John Stephenson graduated from Northwestern University with a master's degree in Speech and Drama in 1948. In 1946, during his studies, he gained an acting role on an episode of a drama radio series on WBKB. Death Stephenson died of Alzheimer's disease, aged 91 on May 15, 2015. Howard Christie (September 16, 1912 – March 25, 1992) was an American producer of films and television. Early life and education Christie was born in Orinda, California and graduated from Oakland Technical High School in 1929. He attended UC Berkeley, where he was a center on the Cal Bears football team and an All-American. He had planned to study medicine, but became interested in Hollywood after playing a small part in a 1935 anti-Communist comedy movie called ''Fighting Youth''.
