''The Lookout'' ( he, שורו, translit. Shuroo) is a 1990 Israeli comedy film directed by Savi Gabizon. It stars Moshe Ivgy, Moshe Ferster, and Keren Mor. The film is about a "small-time con man who becomes a guru". Critically acclaimed, it won the Ophir Award for Best Film and garnered numerous Best Actor awards for Ivgy at the Israeli Academy Awards and Haifa Film Festival. It was submitted by Israel to the Academy Awards. Savi Gabizon
Savi Gabizon ( he, שבי גביזון; born 23 July 1960) is an Israeli filmmaker, screenwriter and producer. Career Gabizon grew up in Kiryat Yam, near Haifa. In 1974 he enrolled in the Haifa military academy. After military service he enrolled at Tel Aviv University, where he graduated in 1987 with a BA in film and television. Since 1993 he has taught film direction and scriptwriting there. He also teaches at the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School and at the Camera Oscura School of Art, both in Tel Aviv. He is a reservist in the film unit of the Israeli Army, and director of the drama department at the Reshet TV network. Films In 1986 Gabizon made a short, ''They Call Me Itzik''. This is a list of submissions to the 63rd Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country. For the 63rd Academy Awards, thirty-seven films were submitted in the category Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Ezra (; he, עֶזְרָא, '; fl. 480–440 BCE), also called Ezra the Scribe (, ') and Ezra the Priest in the Book of Ezra, was a Jewish scribe (''sofer'') and priest (''kohen''). In Greco-Latin Ezra is called Esdras ( grc-gre, Ἔσδρας). According to the Hebrew Bible he was a descendant of Sraya, the last High Priest to serve in the First Temple, and a close relative of Joshua, the first High Priest of the Second Temple. Israel has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1964. Despite its relatively small film-making industry, ten Israeli films have been nominated for the Foreign Language Oscar, placing it in the Top Ten most nominated countries of all time. However, as of 2022, no Israeli film has ever won the coveted award. Since 1991, the Israeli Ophir Award winner for Best Film is automatically designated the Israeli submission for the Oscar. Moshe Ivgy ( he, משה איבגי; born 29 November 1953) is an Israeli actor and director. Biography Moshe Ivgy was born in Casablanca, Morocco, to a Moroccan Jewish family. He was married to actress Irit Sheleg. Their daughter Dana Ivgy is also an actress. After divorcing Irit, he married Oreet, with whom he has two children, Ella and Lily. Ivgy experimented with Scientology and spent some six months studying its teachings. He abandoned it, stating "it is an insane business...
