The Long Fall Back To Earth
''The Long Fall Back to Earth'' is the ninth full-length studio album from Jars of Clay. It was released on April 21, 2009 through Gray Matters and Essential Records. Overview ''The Long Fall Back to Earth'' is the first Jars of Clay album that doesn't include any cover songs since 2002's '' The Eleventh Hour''. ''The Long Fall Back to Earth'' is their follow-up to the acclaimed ''Good Monsters'' album. In mid-February, the band released the first single off the album, "Two Hands," with a mix of song clips on their website along with a pre-order package. The album came in at number 10 on the Jesus Freak Hideout most anticipated albums of 2009. In late October, the second single, "Heaven", was released. The album was nominated for a Grammy in the "Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album" category. Good Monsters
''Good Monsters'' is the seventh full-length studio album from Jars of Clay, released by Essential Records on September 5, 2006. This is their last album of new material from Essential Records and it is said to be lyrically their most aggressive album to date. It features eleven original songs, and a remake of "All My Tears" by Julie Miller. It also features guest appearances by singer/songwriter Kate York (on "Even Angels Cry"), Leigh Nash, of Sixpence None the Richer (on "Mirrors & Smoke"), and the African Children's Choir (on "Light Gives Heat"). " Dead Man (Carry Me)", the first single from the album, was released to radio stations on June 23, 2006. "Work" was released as the second single, along with its music video, in late August. The band also released a music video for the album track "Good Monsters". Stephen Daniel Mason (born July 8, 1975) is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist for Christian alternative folk rock group Jars of Clay. While there, Lowell spotted another student wearing a T-shirt for the band Toad the Wet Sprocket. Daniel Paul Haseltine (born January 12, 1973) is an American singer best known as lead vocalist for Christian alternative folk rock group Jars of Clay. Haseltine has performed vocals, piano, accordion, percussion and melodica, while with Jars of Clay. He has had different artistic titles, including songwriter, producer, film composer, music supervisor and art designer. Haseltine is also the founder of the non-profit organization, Blood:Water Mission, where he currently sits as part of the board of directors. He is a regular writer and speaker about worship music, HIV/AIDS in Africa, social justice and church reform. The 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards presentation was held on April 21, 2010 recognizing accomplishments of musicians for the year 2009. The show was held at The Opry Entertainment Complex in Nashville, Tennessee, and was hosted by Bart Millard. Nominations were announced on February 18, 2010 during a press conference at Belmont University's Curb Café in Nashville, Tennessee. The announcement was hosted by a group of artists which included Francesca Battistelli, Jeremy Camp, Jason Crabb, Brandon Heath, Kari Jobe, Michael W. Smith, Ben Tankard and Lisa Kimmey. A Dove Award is an accolade by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the Christian music industry. The awards are presented annually. Formerly held in Nashville, Tennessee, the Dove Awards took place in Atlanta, Georgia during 2011 and 2012, but has since moved back to Nashville.
