''The Lightning Flyer'' is a 1931 American pre-Code action film directed by William Nigh and starring James Hall (actor), James Hall, Dorothy Sebastian and Robert Homans.Martin p.188 Plot After graduating from college, the son of a railroad president takes a job working for the company under an assumed name to prove that he isn't as lazy as his father thinks. He falls in love but also makes a bitter enemy in the Rail yard, yard foreman. After exposing the man as a thief and a murderer, his antagonist breaks out of prison and seeks revenge by way of a runaway train. William Nigh
William Nigh (October 12, 1881 – November 27, 1955) was an American film director, writer, and actor. His film work sometimes lists him as either "Will Nigh" or "William Nye". Biography Nigh was born Emil Kreuske''Silent Film Necrology'', p. 393 2nd edition c.2001 by Eugene Michael Vazzana in Berlin, Wisconsin. He began his film career as an actor, appearing in 17 films in 1913 and 1914; he also directed one of these, ''Salomy Jane''. He acted in eight more films in the 1910s and two more in the 1920s, but he is known mainly as a director, and an extremely prolific one at that, with a total output of 119 films, the last in 1948. Ethan Allen ( – February 12, 1789) was an American farmer, businessman, land speculator, philosopher, writer, lay theologian, American Revolutionary War Patriot (American Revolution), patriot, and politician. He is best known as one of the founders of Vermont and for the capture of Fort Ticonderoga early in the Revolutionary War. He was the brother of Ira Allen and the father of Fanny Allen, Frances Allen. Allen was born in rural Connecticut Colony, Connecticut and had a frontier upbringing, but he also received an education that included some philosophical teachings.
