The Library (2013 Film)
''The Library'' ( th, ห้องสมุดแห่งรัก; lit: ''Library of Love'') is a Thai short film released in 2013. Summary Jim uses the library where Ann work as a librarian. Jim secretly falls in love with Ann at first sight, but the library rule "Please Quiet" prohibits Jim from talking to Ann. He starts writing letters to Ann on the lending cards of the books he borrowed, without Ann's knowledge. When Jim's ex returns the last book he borrowed, Ann hears that Jim died of liver cancer. Nattawut Poonpiriya
Nattawut "Baz" Poonpiriya ( th, นัฐวุฒิ พูนพิริยะ, born 1981) is a Thai director, working extensively on television commercials and music videos, but best known for the films ''Countdown (2012 film), Countdown'', ''Bad Genius'' and ''One for the Road (2021 film), One for the Road''. Biography Nattawut graduated Master of Fine Arts in stage directing from Srinakharinwirot University. After graduating, he worked mainly on television commercials for three years before moving to New York to study graphic design at Pratt Institute. He returned to Thailand in 2011, and worked as a music video director before directing his first feature film, the horror thriller ''Countdown'', for GMM Tai Hub, GTH in 2012. The film won three categories at the Suphannahong National Film Awards. Nattawut then made a hiatus from feature films to focus again on advertising. Biography Ananda Matthew Everingham is the son of a Laotian-born mother, Keo Sirisomphone and Australian father, Bangkok-based photojournalist John Everingham. He is of Lao and Australian descent. Thai Films
The cinema of Thailand dates back to the early days of filmmaking, when King Chulalongkorn's 1897 visit to Bern, Switzerland was recorded by François-Henri Lavancy-Clarke. The film was then brought to Bangkok, where it was exhibited. This sparked more interest in film by the Thai Royal Family and local businessmen, who brought in filmmaking equipment and started to exhibit foreign films. By the 1920s, a local film industry was started and in the 1930s, the Thai film industry had its first "golden age", with a number of studios producing films. The years after the Second World War saw a resurgence of the industry, which used 16 mm film to produce hundreds of films, many of them hard-driving action films. A short film is any motion picture that is short enough in running time not to be considered a feature film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits".
