The Liberty Bell was an American garage rock/psychedelic rock band from Corpus Christi, Texas who were active in the 1960s. ''Garage Beat '66!'' is a series of garage rock compilation albums issued by Sundazed Records. The series currently consists of seven CDs (Volumes 1–7), each of which is officially designated by its volume number, which appears in the upper left-hand corner of the front cover, and a corresponding "catch phrase" title, which appears as a subheading under the large Garage Beat '66 logo below. The ''Garage Beat '66'' series attempts to represent the breadth and variety of the genre, including not only rawer hard-rocking numbers, but also songs displaying folk rock and psychedelic influence, as well as pop. Sundazed Records
Sundazed Music is an American independent record label based in Coxsackie, New York. It specializes in obscure and rare recordings from the 1950s to the 1970s. In 2000, Sundazed had a staff of 15 and two mixing studios, including a vintage audio equipment collection. History Label founders Bob Irwin and his wife Mary started the label in 1989. Irwin's skill at restoring old vinyl records for the (then new) CD format, attracted the attention of major labels, who increasingly solicited him to help them re-issue material from their back catalogs. He helped Sony Music release their archival Legacy Records label. Later, his restoration work included early material by the likes of Bob Dylan, Nancy Sinatra, and the Byrds. Irwin also worked at Arista for a time. The Zakary Thaks were an American garage rock band from Corpus Christi, Texas, United States, which formed in the mid-1960s. History The band developed out of The Riptides, a teen surf group which included Chris Gerniottis (vocals), Pete Stinson (lead guitar), Wayne Harrison (bass), Shelby Jordan (rhythm guitar), and Rex Gregory (drums). The group then became The Marauders, adding lead guitarist John Lopez and David Fore on drums with Gerniottis at vocals, Gregory at bass, and Stinson on rhythm guitar. In 1966, they replaced Fore with drummer, Stan Moore, and became The Zakary Thaks – the name being a mutated version of one seen in a magazine. The Yardbirds are an English rock band, formed in London in 1963. The Bad Seeds (American Band)
The Bad Seeds were an American garage rock band formed in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1964. Musically influenced by traditional blues and the raw recordings by the Rolling Stones, the group's sound was marked by primal proto-punk instrumental arrangements and vocals.
