''The Legacy of Pretoria'' (german: Das Erbe von Pretoria) is a 1934 German drama film directed by Johannes Meyer and starring Paul Hartmann, Charlotte Susa and Paul Henckels.Bock & Bergfelder p. 193 It was based on the novel ''Die Reise nach Pretoria'' by Ludwig von Wohl. A German man inherits a business in South Africa, but struggles to run it. It was shot at the Bavaria Studios in Munich Munich ( ; german: München ; bar, Minga ) is the capital and most populous city of the German state of Bavaria. With a population of 1,558,395 inhabitants as of 31 July 2020, it is the third-largest city in Germany, after Berlin and Ha .... The film's sets were designed by the art director Max Seefelder. Philipp Veit (actor)
Philipp Veit (13 February 179318 December 1877) was a German Romantic painter and one of the main exponents of the Nazarene movement. It is to Veit that the credit of having been the first to revive the nearly forgotten technique of fresco painting is due. Biography Veit was born in Berlin, Prussia. He was the son of a banker, Simon Veit and his wife Brendel, daughter of Moses Mendelssohn. After Veit's parents divorced in 1799, Veit initially stayed with his mother and lived with her and her new husband Friedrich Schlegel in Jena, Paris, and Cologne. In 1806, he returned to his father in Berlin and finished his schooling in the "Graues Kloster". From 1808 on, Veit received his first art education at the Royal Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, where he was taught by Friedrich Matthäi and Caspar David Friedrich, later in Vienna. Richard Ryen
Richard Ryen (13 September 1885 – 22 December 1965) was a Hungarian-born actor who was expelled from Germany by the Nazis prior to World War II. Early life Ryen was born Richard Anton Robert Felix Revy in Hungary. He began working in Germany as an actor and later became a well-respected stage director at the Munich Kammerspiele (Munich Chamber Theater). His first movie was the comedy ' followed by a bit part in '' Must We Get Divorced?'' (1933) with S. Z. Sakall.
