''The Late News'' is a British late evening news programme that was broadcast on ITV television network on Friday at 11:00pm between 18 January 2008 to 6 March 2009. It was produced by ITN. The thirty-minute news programme, introduced alongside a revamped '' News at Ten'' that aired from Monday to Thursday, enabled ITV to air dramas and entertainment programming past 10:00pm on Friday evenings. James Mates
James Mates (born 11 August 1961) is an English newsreader and journalist, currently employed by ITN, where he presents on ITV News and is Europe Editor. Education and early career Mates was educated at Marlborough College, an independent school in the market town of Marlborough in Wiltshire. He left Marlborough at the age of sixteen to sit A-levels at Farnham College in Farnham in Surrey and then studied at the University of Leeds from which he graduated, in 1983, with a degree in International History and Politics. During that time he had spent his summer holidays in 1981 working as a researcher for U.S. Republican Senator John Tower on the Senate Armed Services Committee. Romilly Sarah Weeks (15 December 1973 in Paddington, London) is an English journalist who is a political correspondent and news presenter for ITV News. Media career After a career in acting, Weeks entered broadcast journalism. She has travelled extensively while reporting for ITV News. She was embedded with the British Army during the Second Gulf War, reported from Thailand after the 2004 tsunami, and has covered many royal tours in her role as Royal Correspondent. Geraint V. Vincent is a British journalist, currently employed by ITN as a Correspondent for '' ITV News''. Early life The son of the international relations scholar R J Vincent and Angela Vincent, Vincent and his family lived in Newcastle in Staffordshire for a time; he attended Newcastle Under Lyme high school from 1985 to 1986. Alastair James Stewart Order of the British Empire, OBE (born 22 June 1952) is an English former journalist and newscaster. Formerly presenting for ITV News, he joined GB News as a presenter in 2021. He has won the Royal Television Society's News Presenter of the Year award twice. Nina Hossain is a British journalist and presenter employed by ITN as the lead presenter of the ''ITV Lunchtime News''. Background Hossain was born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England to a Bangladeshi father and an English mother. Her father, Tabarek Hossain (1935–2002), was born in British India (now Bangladesh) and migrated to Britain in the 1960s (when Bangladesh was still East Pakistan). The multiple-camera setup, multiple-camera mode of production, multi-camera or simply multicam is a method of filmmaking and video production. Several cameras—either film or professional video cameras—are employed on the set and simultaneously record or broadcast a scene. It is often contrasted with a single-camera setup, which uses one camera. Description Generally, the two outer cameras shoot close-up shots or "crosses" of the two most active characters on the set at any given time, while the central camera or cameras shoot a wider master shot to capture the overall action and establish the geography of the room. In this way, multiple shots are obtained in a single take without having to start and stop the action. This is more efficient for programs that are to be shown a short time after being shot as it reduces the time spent in film or video editing.
