The Last Word (Australian TV Program)
''The Last Word'' is an Australian television news and commentary program, broadcast on Sky News Live. The program is hosted and moderated by David Speers, and features regular panellists Paul Murray, Janine Perrett and Laura Jayes. The program sees the Sky News presenters discuss and debate news of the day, focusing primarily on political topics. Speers typically presents the program from the Parliament House studio in Canberra, while the remaining panellists are usually in the Sky News centre in Sydney. Australian Eastern Standard Time
Australia uses three main time zones: Australian Western Standard Time (AWST; UTC+08:00), Australian Central Standard Time (ACST; UTC+09:30), and Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST; UTC+10:00). TV Tonight is an Australian-based website which features reviews, news and programming information related to television in Australia as well as OzTAM ratings information. The site was started by television critic David Knox in 2007 after listeners of his radio programs asked him for information they had missed. Knox runs the site, publishing his interviews with Australian media actors, producers, directors and programmers. Knox regularly visits the sets of Australian television series and reviews television programs. Knox also served as television critic for Radio National's breakfast program from 2009 to 2015. Laura Jayes
Laura Jayes (born 24 December 1983) is an Australian journalist and television presenter. Jayes currently co-hosts ''First Edition'' and '' AM Agenda'' on Sky News Australia. Career Jayes joined Sky News in 2006 as a reporter, and in 2011 became a political reporter and member of the press gallery based in Canberra. She was the presenter of '' Lunchtime Agenda'' before the program was axed in June 2015. Jayes returned to Sydney in 2014 and in 2015 began anchoring the Friday edition of ''NewsDay''. Jayes was nominated as favourite female personality in the 2014 ASTRA Awards. On 18 January 2016, Jayes was given her own primetime program '' The Latest with Laura Jayes'' which aired on weeknights. Janine Perrett
Janine Perrett is an Australian journalist and commentator who has worked across newspapers, radio and television for four decades. She currently works for ABC TV after working as a television presenter for Sky News Australia, until December 2019. Career Perrett began working for ''The Australian'' newspaper in 1979, was a business reporter at the paper's Melbourne and Sydney bureaus and, in 1984, was appointed London correspondent. From 1985 to 1989, she was US correspondent for the paper, covering everything from US Presidential elections and the space shuttle disaster to unrest in Haiti, Panama and Chile. Paul Murray (born 14 July 1978) is a conservative political commentator based in Sydney, Australia. He was the former regular mornings presenter on 2UE show ''A Sydney Morning''. ''Agenda'' is the name given to a series of Australian television news and commentary programs, broadcast on Sky News Australia throughout the week. The ''Agenda'' series of bulletins serve as the channel's flagship program. The series focuses on mainly political topics, and in each episode the host usually interviews a guest, and is then usually joined by either Sky News contributors or politicians from opposing sides of politics debating the issues of the day. With the exception of ''Sunday Agenda'' and the Thursday episode of ''PM Agenda'', the program is broadcast live from the Sky News studio at Parliament House in Canberra. Current affairs is a genre of broadcast journalism in which major news stories are discussed at length in a timely manner. This differs from regular news broadcasts that place emphasis on news reports presented for simple presentation as soon as possible, often with a minimum of analysis.
