The Last Salute
''The Last Salute'' is a British comedy television series which first aired on BBC One 15 March 1998 to 29 August 1999. The series follows the misadventures of an AA plc, AA patrolman in Hampshire in the early 1960s. Simon Nye
Simon Nye (born 29 July 1958) is an English screenwriter, best known for television comedy. He wrote the hit British sitcom, sitcom ''Men Behaving Badly'', and all of the four ITV Pantos. He co-wrote the 2006 film ''Flushed Away'', created an adaptation of Richmal Crompton's ''Just William (book series), Just William'' books in 2010, and wrote the drama series ''The Durrells''. Early life Nye was born in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, Sussex. Nye was educated at The College of Richard Collyer, Collyer's School and Bedford College (London), Bedford College, University of London, where he studied French and German. He started his writing career as a translator, publishing translations of books on Richard Wagner, Henri Matisse and Georges Braque, before turning his hand to novel writing in 1989, with ''Men Behaving Badly''. Lill Roughley
Lilian Roughley (born 1949), best known as Lill Roughley, is an English actress who has appeared on British television since the 1970s. Her notable roles include Alice in the first series of ''Mulberry (TV series), Mulberry'', and as Ella Dawkins in ''My Hero (British TV series), My Hero''. In the 1980s and 1990s, Roughley also worked often with Victoria Wood, playing a variety of roles in Wood's various comedy series for the BBC. Brett Fancy
Brett Fancy (born 4 January 1964 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England) is an English film, TV, and theatre actor. Early life Born and raised in Portsmouth, he is the son of Brian Fancy, a HMNB Portsmouth dockyard worker, and is the grandson of Ralph Newson, who was a designer on the WWII Airspeed Horsa, Horsa Glider. Fancy attended Horndean Technology College, Horndean School near Portsmouth, known as Mark Fancy and attended Highbury College (with actor Stephen Marcus). It was while working as stage crew at the Chichester Festival Theatre, watching Sir John Mills from the wings, that he decided to become an actor. Paul Young (actor)
Paul Young (born 3 July 1944) is a Scottish television actor and presenter. Young was born in Edinburgh, the son of the actor John Young. He was educated at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh. He started acting as a child. His first performance was as Tiny Tim in the Edinburgh Gateway Company's production of ''A Christmas Carol'' in 1953, and he played the eponymous hero of the film ''Geordie'' in 1955. He played First Officer William Murdoch in the 1979 TV movie '' S. O. S. Titanic''. Geoffrey Beevers (born 15 January 1941) is a British actor who has appeared in many different stage and screen roles. Career Theatre Beevers has worked extensively at the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond upon Thames, both as an actor (including the title role in Jules Romain's ''Doctor Knock'', 1994); and as an adaptor/director of George Eliot's novel ''Adam Bede'' (February 1990), for which he won a Time Out Award, and Honoré de Balzac's ''Père Goriot'' (February 1994).
