''The Last Pedestrian'' (german: Der letzte Fussgänger) is a 1960 West German comedy film directed by Wilhelm Thiele and starring Heinz Erhardt, Christine Kaufmann and Käthe Haack. It was shot at the Göttingen Studios. The film's set's were designed by the art director Walter Haag Walter Haag (1898–1978) was a German art director. Wilhelm Thiele
Wilhelm Thiele (1890–1975) was an Austrian screenwriter and film director. He directed over 40 films between 1921 and 1960. Life and career Thiele started his show career as a stage actor. He got his start in Austrian and German film during the 1920s, most often as a director of film comedies. His biggest success was the highly influential musical film '' The Three from the Filling Station'' (1930), the highest-grossing film in Germany that year. Thiele, who was of Jewish descent,Siegbert Salomon Prawer, ''Between Two Worlds: The Jewish Presence in German and Austrian Film, 1910-1933'', Berghahn Books (2007), p. 211 left Germany during the Nazi Era. Trude Herr (; 4 May 1927 – 16 March 1991) was a German film actress, singer and theatre owner.Weisser p. 289 She was an entertainer in Germany from the early 1960s until her retirement. Early life Trude Herr was born in the Cologne district of Kalk, grew up in the city's district of Mülheim and attended school there. Her father Robert Herr was a locomotive driver and was imprisoned for a long time because of his membership in the Communist Party; later he was sent to a concentration camp. For him she wrote the song "Papa", in which she thanked her father for her time; she sang it in 1961 at his funeral. She herself was a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany. In 1933, she attended primary school in Cologne-Mülheim after which she worked in a bakery. Eduard Linkers (11 October 1912 – 3 April 2004) was an Austrian actor. He appeared in more than 70 films between 1936 and 1988. Life He was born as Eduard Linker to a family of Jewish descent in Czernowitz, Austria-Hungary. He studied acting in Vienna, where he also started his acting career. After Anschluss he escaped to Czechoslovakia. He made his living by teaching English. That's how he met a Czech director František Čáp, who cast him in his movie ''Men Without Wings'' (1946). In 1952 he moved to Germany, where he acted in American productions. He spoke Romanian, German, English, Czech, French and Italian.
