''The Last Laugh'' ( Spanish: ''Muerto de risa'', ) is a 2023 Peruvian comedy film written, directed and co-produced by Gonzalo Ladines. Starring César Ritter and Gisela Ponce de León accompanied by Gianfranco Brero, Giselle Collao, Daniel Menacho, Job Mansilla, Hernán Romero and Gabriela Velásquez. It is about a talk show host who, after the death of his father, loses his sense of humor and seeks to get it back. Synopsis Javi Fuentes is the host of the most famous talk show in the country, his humor is based on making fun of others. When his father dies, Javi loses his sense of humor and is replaced by a hateful influencer. To get his show back, Javi decides to hire Alfonsina, a rehabilitated alcoholic who will try to teach him to laugh at himself and not at others. Gonzalo Ladines
Gonzalo Ladines (born 1984, Lima, Peru) is a Peruvian film director and screenwriter. He is best known for co-creating the web series ''Los Cinéfilos'', as well as directing and writing the comedy films '' Just Like in the Movies'' (2015) and '' The Last Laugh'' (2023). Career He graduated from the University of Lima in 2006. He directed and wrote several short films with a focus on comedy, highlighting ''Rumeits'' (2010) and ''Los niños'' (2014), and co-wrote the short film ''Fantastic Cars'' (2019). Throughout his career he co-wrote several scripts such as ''Lima 13'' (2012), '' Viejos amigos'' (2014) and '' Youtuber Dad'' (2019), the latter sold to the French ( StudioCanal) and Mexican markets (YouthPlanet Films) for remakes. Gisela Ponce de León Franco, (born 12 April 1985) is a Peruvian film, television and stage actress and singer. Gisela began working professionally as a child actor on the musical '' Annie'' and in other productions.
