Angelo Daniel Badalamenti (March 22, 1937 – December 11, 2022) was an American composer, best known for his work scoring films for director David Lynch, notably '' Blue Velvet'', the ''Twin Peaks'' saga (1990–1992, 2017), ''The Straight Story'', and ''Mulholland Drive''. Badalamenti received the 1990 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for his "''Twin Peaks'' Theme". Badalamenti also received a "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the World Soundtrack Awards's Academy in 2008, and the "Henry Mancini Award" from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers in 2011. ''Moog Indigo'' is the ninth studio album by the French electronic music pioneer Jean-Jacques Perrey, released in 1970 on the Vanguard Records label. The name album is a reference to Jazz song "Mood Indigo" by Duke Ellington. Composition and recording In 1963 Perrey with the American guitarist Vinnie Bell did a session for Kai Winding, in which Perrey played the Ondioline and Bell played the guitar. After that Vinnie along with Perrey recorded several successful commercials and when Jean-Jacques got a contract with the Vanguard Records label. Perrey asked him to be the lead guitarist for his recording sessions as "Soul City" and "E.V.A.". The latter is a tribute to the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong. Perrey's version of " Flight of the Bumblebee" composed by Russian composer Rimsky Korsakov, uses real bee sounds. WhoSampled is a website and app database of information about sampled music or sample-based music, cover songs and remixes. History Nadav Poraz founded the site in London, England in 2008, as a way to track musical samples and cover songs. Mobile apps were released in 2012 and 2014 for iPhone and Android, respectively. The website's database is user-generated and reviewed by moderators before the content goes live. As of 2022, the site's most sampled track is the Amen break from the Winstons. In 2015, the site added support for film and television clips. The following year, it partnered with Spotify and introduced a six degrees of separation-inspired game that tracks relationships between artists, producers, and their tracks.
