The Landlady Singer
''The Landlady Singer'' () is a 2023 Singaporean musical comedy series starring Liu Lingling, Wang Weiliang, Xenia Tan, Wang Yuqing and Lin Youfa. It airs every Tuesday, from 17 October 2023, at 8pm on Mediacorp Channel 8. Synopsis Wanting to earn extra cash to visit her son in London, Ying-jie decides to rent out her spare rooms to A-wei, a deliveryman, and Jiexi, a timid young woman. Ying-jie's nephew, Uncle Jian, moves in as well as his house is under renovation. Gradually unable to withstand the lifestyle habits of her new tenants, Ying-jie sets to chase them out of her house. However, despite their differences, the four eventually forms a bond through music and they decide to join a music competition as a quartet. Liu Lingling (Singaporean Host)
Liu Lingling (born 1963) is a Singaporean host and singer who has been active in the getai scene for more than five decades. As an actress, she has appeared in multiple Mediacorp drama series and local films. Early life and career Liu's parents are from Malaysia. They registered their marriage in Singapore and Liu was born in Singapore. Spending her childhood years in Malaysia, Liu came back to Singapore when she was six for her primary school education. Liu has a younger sister, Angie, who is a getai singer. Liu began singing on the getai stage when she was six, earning around fifty cents to one dollar per show at that point in time. Wang Weiliang (, born 11 October 1987) is a Singaporean actor and singer. A getai performer-turned-actor, Wang has become a local celebrity after the successes of ''Ah Boys to Men'' movie series by director Jack Neo. Personal life At 14, he dropped out of Montfort Secondary School to help with his family's household expenditure. Wang Yuqing
Tan Chooi Leong or better known as Wang Yuqing (, born 9 September 1961) is a Singaporean actor. Education Wang studied at Willow Avenue Secondary School. Career Prior to his acting career, Wang served out his NS days in the Aerodrome fire service. He was offered a contract by the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) after completing the 3rd drama training course in 1982. Wang first acted in SBC's Army series before starring in SBC's earliest idol drama, ''The Flying Fish'', in 1983, which catapulted him to stardom. In 1988, Wang almost joined Hong Kong's TVB but decided against it, citing his poor grasp of Cantonese and reluctance to leave a stable environment.
