The Kranzberg Arts Foundation or Kranzberg Arts Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to promoting arts, music, orchestra, jazz, theater, and culture in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. The Kranzberg Arts Foundation is responsible for the creation and growth of the Midtown St. Louis Neighborhood which includes the Grand Center Arts District. The Kranzberg Arts Foundation supports 43 organizations. Dwell in Other Futures In April 2018, the Kranzberg Arts Foundation supported a conference, ''Dwell in Other Futures'', founded by Gavin Kroeber, Tim Portlock, and Rebecca Wanzo and hosted at Kranzberg's .ZACK, featured Samuel Delany, Treasure Shields Redmond and Sophia Al-Maria. Kranzberg is a municipality in the district of Freising in Bavaria in Germany. At Bernstorf, a part within the municipality of Kranzberg, a Bronze Age fortification was found in 1904 by local historian Josef Wenzl. It was dated at around 1360 B.C. and is the largest known Bronze Age settlement north of the Alps. Most significant were finds of gold and amber objects which contained writings in Mycenaean Greek Linear B Linear B was a syllabic script used for writing in Mycenaean Greek, the earliest attested form of Greek. National Building Arts Center
The National Building Arts Center (NBAC) is a large collection of significant architectural, structural, and industrial items saved before these elements from the built environment are demolished. It is the physical collection of the St. Louis Building Arts Foundation. The Center salvages and stores important architectural and industrial elements to promote public awareness of architecture, manufacturing, construction, and urban design in the built environment. It also works to ensure historic preservation of existing buildings and maintains an extensive research library.
