The Journey (1995 Film)
The Journey ( fa, سفر, translit=Safar) is a 1995 Iranian film directed by Alireza Raisian and written by Abbas Kiarostami. The film follows Farhad Sadri and his family, as their home in Tehran is bombed during the Gulf War. The family moves to northern Iran, and during their travels they experience special moments. Abbas Kiarostami
Abbas Kiarostami ( fa, عباس کیارستمی ; 22 June 1940 – 4 July 2016) was an Iranian film director, screenwriter, poet, photographer, and film producer. An active filmmaker from 1970, Kiarostami had been involved in the production of over forty films, including short film, shorts and documentaries. Kiarostami attained critical acclaim for directing the ''Koker trilogy, Koker'' Koker trilogy, trilogy (1987–1994), ''Close-Up (1990 film), Close-Up'' (1990), ''The Wind Will Carry Us'' (1999), and ''Taste of Cherry'' (1997), which was awarded the Palme d'Or at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival that year. Gulf War
The Gulf War was a 1990–1991 armed campaign waged by a 35-country military coalition in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Fatemeh Motamed-Arya ( fa, فاطمه معتمدآریا; born October 29, 1961 in Tehran) is a multi-award-winning Iranian actress. She first got involved in theater during her teen years, and received her degree in theater from Tehran Art Institute. She is one of the most significant actresses of post-revolutionary Iranian cinema and has been called "one of the most important actresses and filmmakers of Iran." Farrokhlagha Houshmand (1929 – 2009) (; née Farrokh Lagha Poursol) was an Iranian actress in film, television, and theater. She appeared in more than 70 movies. Biography Farrokh Lagha Poursol was born in 1929 in Rasht, Pahlavi Iran. Her father was one of the founders of the Rasht Theater, and she had initially studied acting as a child in Rasht. She formally started her acting career in 1945 in the acting academy under the supervision of Ataullah Zahed, , and and she was active in the Gilan Theater.
