The Iron Claw (film)
''The Iron Claw'' is an upcoming sport biographical film written and directed by Sean Durkin and produced and distributed by A24. It is based on the life of professional wrestler Kevin Von Erich and the Von Erich family, and stars Zac Efron with an ensemble cast including Lily James, Harris Dickinson, Maura Tierney, and Holt McCallany, amongst others. Synopsis The film is centered around the Von Erich family, a dynasty of wrestlers from the 1960s onwards that had enormous success, and popularized the iron claw professional wrestling hold. However, they not only had to battle inside the ring, but fight the “Von Erich curse” outside of it. Timothy Sean Durkin (born December 9, 1981) is a Canadian film director, screenwriter and producer. He won the Dramatic Directing Award at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival for ''Martha Marcy May Marlene''. His short film, ''Mary Last Seen'', on the same theme as ''Martha'', won the award for best short film at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival Directors' Fortnight. David Alan Adkisson (July 22, 1958 – February 10, 1984) was an American professional wrestler, better known by the ring name David Von Erich. Edward George Farhat (June 7, 1926 – January 18, 2003) was an American Professional wrestling, professional wrestler, better known by his ring name The Sheik (often called The Original Sheik to distinguish him from The Iron Sheik, who debuted in 1972). Frank Donald Goodish (June 18, 1946 – July 17, 1988) was an American professional wrestler who earned his greatest fame under the ring name Bruiser Brody. He also worked as King Kong Brody, The Masked Marauder, and Red River Jack. William Kevin Vaughan (born April 24, 1960) is an American retired professional wrestler, better known by the ring name Lance Von Erich.
