The Invincible Squad
The Invincible Squad (Simplified Chinese: 迷幻特警) is Singaporean Chinese police drama series which aired on MediaCorp Channel 8 in 2001. It is about a police special task force who are called to solve six difficult cases. Main cast *Xie Shaoguang *Phyllis Quek *Jeff Wang Nominations Synopsis The series contains six short stories, each focusing on mysterious and unusual cases that require a special team to help solve. The head of the force is a person named "Z", who once had a bright future with the police force. Phyllis Quek
Phyllis Quek (; born 23 August 1972) is a Malaysian model, actress, and singer. She was prominently a full-time Mediacorp artist from 1995 to 2001, and was ranked by local media as the 'Fourth Ah Jie' for being the fourth most prominent actress in Singapore's Chinese-language entertainment industry of that time after Zoe Tay, Fann Wong and Ann Kok. Phyllis is best known for her lead roles in the movie 2000AD co-starring Aaron Kwok, and as 'Bai Mudan' in the popular TV drama Legends Of The Eight Immortals. She left Mediacorp after her contract expired but continues to film on an ad-hoc basis and is currently managed under Hype Records. Jeff Wang
Jeff Wang () is a Taiwanese actor and television host. He was previously contracted to MediaCorp and was based in Singapore for over a decade. He was a prominently a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1999 to 2010. As he decided to pursue a career in singing, he left MediaCorp in 2010 and returned to his native Taiwan. Career Wang was overall male champion on Star Search Singapore 1999 and was awarded a contract with MediaCorp. Yvonne Lim (, born 28 September 1976) is a Singaporean actress. Early life and education Lim was born to Hokkien-speaking family. She studied at CHIJ St Theresa's Convent and graduated with a Diploma in Electronic, Computer & Communication Engineering (DECC) at Singapore Polytechnic in 1996. In an interview with SP's alumni magazine, she stated that she was a "shy girl" who rarely took part in extracurricular activities. At the recommendation of some friends, she took part in the Miss Singapore Polytechnic beauty pageant and finished first runner-up. Florence Tan
Florence Tan (, born 30 June 1977) is a Malaysian actress based in Singapore. She was prominently a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1997 to 2006 and managed by Lafeng Entertainment but continues to film on an ad-hoc basis. She left Mediacorp in 2006 to expand her career in China and Asia. Career Tan joined the TCS (predecessor of MediaCorp) after winning the gender category in the Star Search 1997. Channel 8 ( zh, 8頻道) is a Singaporean free-to-air television channel, airing in Mandarin Chinese. It was created by Television Singapura on 31 August 1963 with experimental broadcasts, before going official on 23 November that year. The channel's logo is a yellow number 8 on top of a red disc. History Channel 8 began its test transmissions on Saturday, 31 August 1963, Malaysia's national day. Its first day consisted of a Hokkien film, repeats of India's participation in the South East Asian Cultural Festival and Singapore Celebrates. Star Awards For Best Supporting Actress
The Star Awards for Best Supporting Actress is an award presented annually at the Star Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1994. The category was introduced in 1995, at the 2nd Star Awards ceremony; Zhu Xiufeng received the award for her role in ''Chronicle of Life'' and it is given in honour of a Mediacorp actress who has delivered an outstanding performance in a supporting role.
