The Innocent Casimiro
''The Innocent Casimiro'' (Italian: ''L'innocente Casimiro'') is a 1945 Italian comedy film directed by Carlo Campogalliani and starring Erminio Macario, Lea Padovani and Olinto Cristina. It is based on a play ''Scandalo al Collegio'' by Mario Amendola, and was mainly shot in 1943. However it was disrupted by wartime events and was not released until 1945. It was the first release to be distributed by Lux Film following the Liberation. Critics were generally disappointed with the film, made in the traditional pre-war style of "schoolgirl comedies". The film's sets were designed by the art directors Gastone Medin and Gino Brosio. Carlo Campogalliani (10 October 1885 – 10 August 1974) was an Italian screenwriter, actor and film director. Campogalliani directed around eighty films during his career and acted in another fifty. Lauro Gazzolo (born Ilario Gazzolo; 15 October 1900 – 2 October 1970) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Born in Nervi in Genoa, Gazzolo began his career on screen in 1938 starring in the comedy film ''The Document'' and became more successful after the end of World War II. A popular character actor, he appeared in at least 106 films and played many roles between 1939 and 1966. Among his most popular filmography included '' The Jester's Supper'', ''Four Steps in the Clouds'' and ''The Band of Honest Men''.
