''The Inn on the River'' (german: Das Gasthaus an der Themse/ ''The Inn on the Thames'') is a 1962 West German crime film directed by Alfred Vohrer and starring Joachim Fuchsberger, Eddi Arent and Klaus Kinski. It is part of a cycle of films based on the novels of Edgar Wallace, produced in West Germany in the 1950s and 1960s. Alfred Vohrer (29 December 1914 – 3 February 1986) was a German film director and actor. He directed 48 films between 1958 and 1984. Gebhardt Georg Arendt (5 May 1925 – 28 May 2013) was a German actor, cabaret artist and comedian. He appeared in more than 100 films between 1956 and 2002. The Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle der Filmwirtschaft (FSK, ''Self-Regulatory Body of the Movie Industry'') is a German motion picture rating system organization run by the '' Spitzenorganisation der Filmwirtschaft'' (SPIO, Head Organisation of the Movie Industry) based in Wiesbaden. Wandsbek Studios
The Wandsbek Studios are film production and television studios located in Wandsbek, a district of the German city of Hamburg. The complex was established in 1948 when Real Film, set up the previous year, acquired a site in Wandsbek for construction of a studio. Real Film was one of the first German companies to receive a production licence in the wake of the Second World War. The studios were located in the British Zone of Occupation which in 1949 became part of West Germany. Siegfried Schürenberg (12 January 1900 – 31 August 1993) was a German film actor. He appeared in more than 80 films between 1933 and 1974.
