The House On Wannsee Street
''The House on Wannsee Street'' ( es, La casa de Wannsee) is an Argentine documentary film written and directed by Poli MartÃnez Kaplun. It premiered on August 1, 2019, in Buenos Aires. Synopsis After her son decides to celebrate his Bar mitzvah, filmmaker Poli MartÃnez Kaplun starts digging into the history of her ancestors, German Jews who were forced to go into exile in order to escape Nazism. This search takes her on a journey to Europe. On the outskirts of Berlin, she visits the house that used to belong to her great-grandfather, philosopher and psychologist Otto Lipmann. Through photographs, documents and interviews with family members, MartÃnez Kaplun rebuilds her family's history and reflects on issues such as discrimination, identity and memory. Otto Lipmann (6 March 1880 – 7 October 1933) was a German psychologist, an expert in vocational guidance, and one of the pioneers in the use of counseling for the selection of a profession. Biography Otto Lipmann was born in Breslau on March 6, 1880. His parents were Emo Lipmann and Hulda Wendrina. In 1904, he received his Ph.D. from the University of Breslau. Over the years, Lipmann contributed to several fields of psychology, especially industrial psychology, with the development of the first selection tests for aviators in Germany, and also for typesetters, industrial apprentices, telegraphists and academic workers, amongst others.
