The Histronic
The Histronic is an electronic music and livetronica band based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. The current members are Mike Moilanen (guitar) and Kevin Dorsey (keyboard). History Formerly a live electro trio, The Histronic now features the duo of: DJ and guitarist Mike Moilanen, and DJ and keyboard player Kevin Dorsey. Dorsey is a founding member of the group, a graduate of the University of Denver's Lamont School of music, and the owner of a recording studio in Plymouth, Minnesota (Milkhouse Productions). Mike Moilanen is the resident Saturday night DJ at the 414 Soundbar club in Minneapolis, a fixture in the house music scene in Minneapolis, and a producer of house, deep house, and tech house. The Histronic has played festivals such as: 10,000 Lakes Festival, Harvest Fest, Summer Dance (at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park), and Fat Fest. Lotus (rock Band)
Lotus is an instrumental electronic jam band formed in Indiana in 1999 now based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Denver, Colorado. History Lotus was formed at Goshen College in August 1998 by Steve Clemens, Luke Miller, Mike Rempel, Andy Parada, and Joel Jimenez, with the first live show occurring on September 25, 1998. The band's more permanent lineup coalesced in 1999. After a few years of playing what they describe as "jamtronica", Lotus recruited percussionist Chuck Morris in 2001 and shifted their focus to instrumental music, taking inspiration from electronic musicians such as The Orb. Jamband
A jam band is a musical group whose concerts (and live albums) are characterized by lengthy improvisational "jams." These include extended musical improvisation over rhythmic grooves and chord patterns, and long sets of music which often cross genre boundaries. Most jam band sets will consist of variations on songs that have already been released as studio recordings. Jam bands are known for having a very fluid structure, often having one song lead into another without any interruption. Carsten Nicolai (18 September 1965), also known as Alva Noto, is a German musician and visual artist. He is a member of the music groups Diamond Version with Olaf Bender (Byetone), Signal with Frank Bretschneider and Olaf Bender, Cyclo with Ryoji Ikeda, ANBB with Blixa Bargeld, ALPHABET with Anne-James Chaton, Opto with Thomas Knak, and Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto with whom he composed the score for the 2015 film '' The Revenant''. EOTO ( ) was an electronic band consisting of Michael Travis and Jason Hann. On July 22, 2021 the band announced via social media that they would no longer be performing, due to irreconcilable creative differences. The post indicated that the decision did not impact The String Cheese Incident, which they both play in. Description The band's music is created live and without prerecorded loops. The band formed in 2006 as a side project of The String Cheese Incident incorporating looper pedals, like Echoplex and the production program Ableton. According to one reviewer, the duo sets their live instruments free and take on a new electronic flavor. The band played their first show at Sonic Bloom (festival), Sonic Bloom in May 2006.
