The Highway Crossing
''Ristumine peateega'' ( en, The Highway Crossing) is a 1999 Estonian drama film directed by Arko Okk and based on the Jaan Tätte's play ''Ristumine peateega ehk muinasjutt kuldsest kalakesest'. The film talks about a young couple (Laura and Roland) who after unsuccessful hitchhiking and due to bad weather, tries to find a shelter at a nearby country house. House owner Osvald thinks that their visiting is not a random one. Osvald behaves strangely and makes unique offering for the couple. Osvald wants to buy Roland's wife. The couple is confused and try to figure out the motives of this offering. Jaan Tätte
Jaan Tätte (born 24 March 1964 in Viljandi) is an Estonian playwright, poet, actor, and singer. Biography From 1982 to 1984 Tätte studied biology at the University of Tartu. From 1985 to 1986 he attended a graduate program at the Tallinn Pedagogical Institute (now Tallinn University) and studied acting in the drama department of the Tallinn Conservatory (now, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre), graduating in 1990. The Stockholm International Film Festival ( sv, Stockholms filmfestival, italic=no) is an annual film festival held in Stockholm, Sweden. The Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF), is one of Asia’s oldest international film festivals. Emil Urbel (born 13 November 1959 in Pärnu) is an Estonian architect. Emil Urbel studied in the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (today's Estonian Academy of Arts) in the department of architecture. He graduated from the institute in 1982. Andres Tarand (born 11 January 1940) is an Estonian geographer, climatologist and politician who served as the Prime Minister of Estonia from 1994 to 1995. He was also a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Social Democratic Party, part of the Party of European Socialists, between 2004 and 2009. Tarand was born in Tallinn.
