The Hidden Planet
During the long history of the British science fiction on television, science fiction television programme ''Doctor Who'', a number of stories were proposed but, for a variety of reasons, never fully produced. Below is a list of unmade serials which were submitted by recognised professional writers and the BBC had intended to produce, but for one reason or another were not made. Many have since been the subject of a feature in ''Doctor Who Magazine'', or other professional periodicals or books devoted to the television show. Such serials exist during the tenure of each of the previous twelve Regeneration (Doctor Who), incarnations of The Doctor (Doctor Who), the Doctor. The reasons for the serials being incomplete include strike action (which caused the partially filmed ''Shada'' to be abandoned), actors leaving roles (''The Final Game'', which was cancelled after Roger Delgado's death), and the series being put on hiatus twice—once in 1985, and again in 1989—causing the seri ... Science fiction first appeared in television programming in the late 1930s, during what is called the Golden Age of Science Fiction. Special effects and other production techniques allow creators to present a living visual image of an imaginary world not limited by the constraints of reality. Story creation and scientific accuracy Science fiction tries to blend fiction and reality seamlessly so that the viewer can be immersed in the imaginative world. This includes characters, settings, and tools. Viewers often critique the scientific plausibility and accuracy of technology and technological concepts. In the 2020 series ''Away (TV series), Away'' a notable plot point in the eight episode, ''Vital Signs'' has astronauts listen intently for a sound boom picked up by a real-life Mars rover called InSight. Barbara Wright (Doctor Who)
Barbara Wright is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'' and a companion of the First Doctor. She was one of the programme's first regulars and appeared in the bulk of its first two seasons from 1963–65, played by Jacqueline Hill. Barbara appeared in 16 stories (74 episodes). In the film version of one of the serials, ''Dr. Who and the Daleks'' (1965), Barbara was played by actress Jennie Linden, but with a very different personality and backstory, which includes her being a granddaughter of "Dr Who".
