The Greenhornes
The Greenhornes were an American garage rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in 1996 by vocalist/guitarist Craig Fox, bass guitarist Jack Lawrence and drummer Patrick Keeler. They released their debut album '' Gun For You'' in 1999, followed by a self-titled album in 2001. A third studio album, '' Dual Mono'', was released in 2002, with the band taking a small hiatus. The Greenhornes returned in 2005 to release a new EP, '' East Grand Blues'', and a compilation album, '' Sewed Soles''. During this time, Lawrence and Keeler formed The Raconteurs with Detroit musicians and personal friends Jack White and Brendan Benson, leaving very few performances and interaction with Fox. In 2010, the band reunited once again to record a studio album, '' Four Stars'', their first in eight years. Garage rock (sometimes called garage punk or 60s punk) is a raw and energetic style of rock and roll that flourished in the mid-1960s, most notably in the United States and Canada, and has experienced a series of subsequent revivals. Telstar Records was a British record label that operated from 1982 to 2004. Background Telstar was founded in 1982 by Sean O'Brien and Neil Palmer with a government loan of £120,00Telstar RecordsIt was launched as a specialist compilation marketing label and had hits with a range of compilation franchises such as the Deep Heat, Kaos Theory and 100% ranges. John Curley Jr. (born March 14, 1965 in Trenton, New Jersey) is an American musician best known as the bassist for, and co-founder of, the Afghan Whigs. James Patrick Keeler is an American rock music drummer from Cincinnati, who is best known for playing in The Greenhornes, The Raconteurs, and The Afghan Whigs. He plays with both traditional and matched grips. Recording career Keeler has played with garage rock band The Greenhornes along with vocalist Craig Fox and Jack Lawrence, since 1996. The Greenhornes have released five albums to date, 'The Greenhornes', 'Gun for You', 'Dual Mono', 'East Grand Blues EP' and '★★★★'. Their song 'There Is an End', featuring Holly Golightly, was used in the Jim Jarmusch film 'Broken Flowers', starring Bill Murray. In 2004, Keeler played drums on the Loretta Lynn album Van Lear Rose in the band that album producer Jack White put together. The band called themselves The Do Whaters, and also featured Lawrence on bass and Dave Feeny on pedal steel guitar. Jack Lawrence (bassist)
"Little" Jack Lawrence (born December 18, 1976) is an American musician from Covington, Kentucky, currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. Career Lawrence currently plays bass guitar in The Raconteurs, The Greenhornes, The Dead Weather and City and Colour as well as the autoharp and banjo in Blanche. He also guested on the theme song to the 2008 Bond film ''Quantum of Solace'' entitled "Another Way To Die", playing bass guitar and baritone guitar. On May 22, 2009, Lawrence married photographer Jo McCaughey at Jack White's house in Nashville in a double ceremony with Meg White and Jackson Smith. Lawrence contributed to the soundtrack of the 2009 Spike Jonze film ''Where the Wild Things Are''. He is uncredited but is one of the members of Karen O's backup band for the album, Karen O and the Kids.
