The Great Shadow (film)
''The Great Shadow'' is a 1920 American silent drama film directed by Harley Knoles and starring Tyrone Power Sr., Donald Hall and Dorothy Bernard. The making of the film is the subject of the Canadian play of the same name, written by Alex Poch-Golden. Plot Jim McDonald, the head of an union, struggles against a group of Bolsheviks led by Klimoff. A strike is called and McDonald's child is killed due to sabotage. Elsie, daughter of the capitalist Donald Alexander, is kidnapped by the Bolsheviks, but is saved by her lover, a secret agent. Jack Rutherford (actor)
Jack Rutherford (April 12, 1893 – August 21, 1982) was a British film and television actor. Rutherford first appeared in British films in leading or prominent supporting roles during the silent era. He later went to Hollywood where he often played villains in Western films. His most significant American role was as the Sheriff in the 1930 comedy ''Whoopee!'' Trenton, Ontario
Trenton (2001 population 16,770) is a large unincorporated community in Central Ontario in the municipality of Quinte West, Ontario, Canada. Located on the Bay of Quinte, it is the starting point for the Trent-Severn Waterway, which continues northwest to Peterborough and eventually Port Severn on Georgian Bay. History The Trenton area is part of the traditional area of the Mississauga and other Indigenous First Nations. The first known expedition by Europeans in the area was one by French explorer Samuel de Champlain, which followed the Trent passing through Trenton in 1615. The Trent River is known to the Mississauga as ''Sangichiwigewonk'', or 'fast flowing.' Settlers gave it the name 'Trent', after the River Trent in England. Vickers
Vickers was a British engineering company that existed from 1828 until 1999. It was formed in Sheffield as a steel foundry by Edward Vickers and his father-in-law, and soon became famous for casting church bells. The company went public in 1867, acquired more businesses, and began branching out into military hardware and shipbuilding. In 1911, the company expanded into aircraft manufacturer, aircraft manufacture and opened a flying school. They expanded even further into electrical and railway manufacturing, and in 1928 acquired an interest in the Supermarine. Beginning in the 1960s, various parts of the company were nationalised, and in 1999 the rest of the company was acquired by Rolls-Royce Holdings, Rolls-Royce plc, who sold the defence arm to Alvis plc.
