The Great Cheese Robbery
The Great Cheese Robbery is a silent short animated film made by Bray Productions featuring Krazy Kat. It marks the first Krazy film produced by Bray after the International Film Service (IFS) ended its run in making films in the series. Plot One evening, Krazy Kat pulls a newspaper from a trash barrel and reads of unsolved cheese robberies in town. Moments later he spots a masked Ignatz Mouse heading down the street and follows him. Outside a cheese store, Walter, an ostrich policeman, hears footsteps approaching and, frightened, sticks his head in the ground, allowing Ignatz to enter the store unseen, as does Krazy moments later. Inside, Ignatz devours an entire wheel of cheese and crams another into his bag. Upon hearing a banging on the door, Ignatz hides and Krazy enters, only to be mystified over the empty room. Having been attracted by the racket, Walter comes in, mistakes Krazy for the bandit and arrests him. The next morning Ignatz is highly amused over a newspaper repo ...

Bray Productions
Bray Productions was a pioneering American animation studio that produced several popular cartoons during the years of World War I and the early interwar era, becoming a springboard for several key animators of the 20th century, including the Fleischer brothers, Walter Lantz, Paul Terry, Shamus Culhane and Grim Natwick among others. History The studio was founded sometime before 1912 by John Randolph Bray. It was perhaps one of the first studios entirely devoted to serial animation at the time instead of one-off experiments. Its first series was Bray's ''Colonel Heeza Liar'', but from the beginning, the studio brought in outsiders to direct promising new series. Carl Anderson, later known for the comic strip ''Henry'', directed ''The Police Dog'' from the beginning of the company. The year 1915 brought Earl Hurd and Paul Terry; the former became J. R. Bray's business partner and directed ''Bobby Bumps'', the latter was employed under duress and directed ''Farmer Al Fa ...

Animated Sports Films
Animation is a method by which still figures are manipulated to appear as moving images. In traditional animation, images are drawn or painted by hand on transparent celluloid sheets to be photographed and exhibited on film. Today, most animations are made with computer-generated imagery (CGI). Computer animation can be very detailed 3D animation, while 2D computer animation (which may have the look of traditional animation) can be used for stylistic reasons, low bandwidth, or faster real-time renderings. Other common animation methods apply a stop motion technique to two- and three-dimensional objects like paper cutouts, puppets, or clay figures. A cartoon is an animated film, usually a short film, featuring an exaggerated visual style. The style takes inspiration from comic strips, often featuring anthropomorphic animals, superheroes, or the adventures of human protagonists. Especially with animals that form a natural predator/prey relationship (e.g. cats and mice, coyot ...

Goldwyn Pictures
Goldwyn Pictures Corporation was an American motion picture production company that operated from 1916 to 1924 when it was merged with two other production companies to form the major studio, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was founded on November 19, 1916, by Samuel Goldwyn, an executive at Lasky's Feature Play Company (later Paramount Pictures), and Broadway producer brothers Edgar and Archibald Selwyn, using an amalgamation of both last names to name the company. The studio proved moderately successful, but became most famous due to its iconic Leo the Lion trademark. Although Metro was the nominal survivor, the merged studio inherited Goldwyn's old facility in Culver City, California where it would remain until 1986. The merged studio also retained Goldwyn's Leo the Lion logo. Lee Shubert of The Shubert Organization was an investor in the company. History Goldfish, which was Goldwyn's original last name, had left Lasky's Feature Play Company, of which he was a co-founder, in ...
