Paul Scardon
Paul Scardon (6 May 1874 – 17 January 1954) was an actor, a producer, and a director on both Australian and New York stages. When he was 15, Scardon debuted on stage as a contortionist in vaudeville. He progressed from that to pantomime and then joined a troupe headed by J. C. Williamson, touring New Zealand and Australia for five years. In 1905, he joined a company headed by Nance O'Neil, and that group's tour brought him to the United States. Scardon's Broadway credits include ''Mrs. Bumpstead-Leigh'' (1911), ''Becky Sharp'' (1911), ''The Green Cockatoo'' (1910), ''Hannele'' (1910), ''The Debtors'' (1909), ''Agnes''(1908), ''Our American Cousin'' (1908), and ''Brigadier Gerard'' (1906). Eve Southern
Eve Southern (born Elva L. McDowell; August 23, 1900 – November 29, 1972) was an American film actress. She appeared in 38 films from 1916 to 1936. In 1930 she was selected by portrait artist Rolf Armstrong as one of the film industry's 16 "screen beauties". Early years Southern studied music in Fort Worth, with her voice covering three octaves, "the lowest tones of the contralto as well as the high C of the soprano." She also was interested in acting in films, however. Career Southern moved from Fort Worth to Hollywood and began working in films when she was 13 years old, but many of her parts were removed in editing. After appearing in several films in the late 1910s and early 1920s, Southern suffered an automobile accident in June 1929 that left her badly injured. It was reported in July that year that she had "been in a plaster cast for weeks." In 1932, she broke her back, after which she appeared in several roles before retiring from film. Barbara Tennant (19 May 1892 – 18 March 1982) was an English actress. She appeared in over a hundred silent films between 1912 and 1928. Early life Barbara Tennant was born in London, and began performing there. She moved to North America as a young actress and dancer with the Ben Greet company, and lived in Montreal while touring in various theatrical productions. Douglas Gerrard (12 August 1891 – 5 June 1950) was an Irish-American actor and film director of the silent and early sound era. He appeared in more than 110 films between 1913 and 1949. He also directed 23 films between 1916 and 1920. He was born in Dublin, Ireland and died in Hollywood, California. He was the brother of actor Charles K. Gerrard. Jack Mower (September 5, 1890 – January 6, 1965) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 520 films between 1914 and 1965. He was born in Honolulu and died in Hollywood. After studying at Punahou College, in Honolulu, Mower moved to the mainland, and performed in vaudeville and in musical comedies on stage. His work on screen included serials and silent films.
