Juan Carlos Aduviri (born 1 February 1976 in El Alto, Bolivia) is a Bolivian actor and professor of Bolivian cinematography. Aduviri gained fame for his main role in ''Even the Rain'', which was directed by Icíar Bollaín and filmed in Bolivia. For his performance in the film, he was nominated for the Goya Award for Best New Actor. His other films include the British short film, Salar (2011) and Refugiados (2013). This is a list of submissions to the 91st Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. The submitted motion pictures must be first released theatrically in their respective countries between 1 October 2017 and 30 September 2018. Bolivia has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1995. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. It was not created until the 1956 Academy Awards, in which a competitive Academy Award of Merit, known as the Best Foreign Language Film Award, was created for non-English speaking films, and has been given annually since.
