Star City is a fictional city that appears in stories published by DC Comics, best known as the traditional home of the superheroes known by, or affiliated with, the shared alias of Green Arrow. Beyond that, it is also known to other characters of the DC Universe as both a port city and a haven for artists in many of the media, from print to audio/visual to music. Green Arrow's base of operation was initially New York City. However, during the Silver Age, Green Arrow's home was established as being in Star City, being first mentioned in ''Adventure Comics'' #265, before making its first appearance in the following issue. The Glades is a shopping centre in Bromley, England. It has a total of 135 stores trading from a combined floorspace of . Opened as The Glades on Tuesday 22 October 1991, the centre is currently jointly owned by Alaska Permanent Fund (85%) and the London Borough of Bromley (15%). In October 2015 it was confirmed that Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation had agreed to acquire the stakes held by intu Properties and CGNU/Aviva in a £177m deal, giving the APFC 85% holding of the mall (Bromley Council retained its 15% share) and taking the Bromley centre out of intu's network. The sale completed towards the end of 2016. The name "The Glades" was chosen following a competition in which Bromley residents were asked for suggestions. The Everglades is a natural region of tropical wetlands in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Florida, comprising the southern half of a large drainage basin within the Neotropical realm. The system begins near Orlando with the Kissimmee River, which discharges into the vast but shallow Lake Okeechobee. Water leaving the lake in the wet season forms a slow-moving river wide and over long, flowing southward across a limestone shelf to Florida Bay at the southern end of the state. The Everglades experiences a wide range of weather patterns, from frequent flooding in the wet season to drought in the dry season. Glades Wildlife Refuge, also known as The Glades, is in Newport, New Jersey along the Delaware Bay. Owned by Natural Lands, this nature preserve is a landscape of tidal marshes, wooded uplands, beaches along the Delaware Bay, and an old growth forest. Glades Wildlife Refuge open from dawn till dusk daily and is publicly accessible at several points. Several of these points are part of New Jersey's Coastal Heritage Route. In the 1970's Glades Wildlife Refuge was the site of the last remaining nesting Bald Eagles in New Jersey. This location played a key role in the reintroduction of the Bald Eagle to the region. ''The Glades'' is an American crime drama television series, created by Clifton Campbell, that aired on the A&E network for four seasons from July 11, 2010 to August 26, 2013. The police procedural show starred Matt Passmore as Jim Longworth, a Chicago police detective who becomes a state police detective in a Florida Everglades community. He leaves the Chicago Police Department after being shot in the buttocks by his captain, who thought Jim was sleeping with his wife. He receives a large settlement from the city of Chicago and settles in Florida for the golf and what he believes will be an easy life. Glades (band)
Glades are an Australian electronica indie pop band composed of vocalist/guitarist Karina Savage and multi-instrumentalist producers Cameron Robertson and Joseph Wenceslao. The trio met at William Clarke College in Kellyville, New South Wales and formed Glades in 2015. The band's name comes from a ski run band member Robertson saw on during a holiday in the snow. Career In 2015, the band uploaded a cover of fellow Australian Troye Sivan's "Fools" on SoundCloud and received an early endorsement from Sivan himself.
