The Gift (2015 Scottish Film)
''The Gift'' is a 2015 Scottish short film by 27 Ten Productions based on Elvis Presley's 11th birthday. It was directed and written by Gabriel Robertson and stars Brady Permenter, Amye Gousset, and Xander Berkeley. It was produced in Presley's hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi. Plot Elvis and his mother, Gladys, drive to Tupelo Hardware Co. for him to choose a birthday present for his 11th birthday. Although Elvis had always had a bike in his eye, he instead chooses a rifle, much to his mother's dismay. After she prohibits him from buying the gun, the store owner takes him outside and persuades him to buy a guitar instead. Elvis accepts the instrument and starts to become attached to it on the way home. The film ends with Elvis entering their house, with a sign saying "Presley" on the front door. Alexander Harper Berkeley (born December 16, 1955) is an American actor and voice actor. Since beginning his career in the early 1980s, he has appeared in over 200 film and television projects. His film roles include '' Terminator 2: Judgment Day'' (1991), '' Candyman'' (1992), ''Barb Wire'' (1996), ''Air Force One'' (1997), ''Gattaca'' (1997), and ''Shanghai Noon'' (2000). He also appeared in the crime drama ''Heat'' (1995) after being cast in '' L.A. Tupelo () is a city in and the county seat of Lee County, Mississippi, United States. With an estimated population of 38,300, Tupelo is the sixth-largest city in Mississippi and is considered a commercial, industrial, and cultural hub of North Mississippi. "That's All Right" is a song written and originally performed by blues singer Arthur Crudup and recorded in 1946. The song was rereleased in early March 1949 under the title "That's All Right, Mama", which was issued as RCA's first rhythm and blues record on its new 45 rpm single format. The Sanford International Film Festival is an annual event held in Sanford, Maine that specializes in independent film. History Started in 2014 by James Harmon II, the first festival was quickly put together to showcase films that were originally scheduled to play the canceled Lewiston Auburn Film Festival. The Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) is a film festival that runs for two weeks in June each year. Established in 1947, it is the world's oldest continually running film festival.
