''The Gardens of Consolation'' (''Les jardins de consolation'') is the first novel by Iranian-French writer . It was awarded the 2015 and the 2017 . Plot The story concerns a couple who marry and move to Tehran. They are illiterate and their son is brilliant. They witness changes in power in Iran and their son became a follower of the politician Mohammad Mosaddegh. Adriana Hunter
Adriana Hunter is a British translator of French literature. She is known for translating over 60 French novels, such as ''Fear and Trembling'' by Amélie Nothomb or ''The Girl Who Played Go'' by Shan Sa. She has been short-listed for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize twice. In 2011 she won the Scott Moncrieff Prize for her translation of Véronique Olmi's ''Beside the Sea''. In 2013, she won the 27th Annual Translation Prize founded by the French-American Foundation and the Florence Gould Foundation for her translation of ''Electrico W'' by Hervé Le Tellier (2013). She is also a contributor to Words Without Borders. She lives in Kent, England. In 2017, she became the English translator for new comic albums in the ''Asterix'' series. Mohammad Mosaddegh
Mohammad Mosaddegh ( fa, Ù…Øمد مصدق, ; 16 June 1882 – 5 March 1967) was an Iranian politician, author, and lawyer who served as the 35th Prime Minister of Iran from 1951 to 1953, after appointment by the 16th Majlis. He was a member of the Iranian parliament from 1923, and served through a contentious 1952 election into the 17th Iranian Majlis, until his government was overthrown in the 1953 Iranian coup d'état aided by the intelligence agencies of the United Kingdom (MI6) and the United States (CIA), led by Kermit Roosevelt Jr. His National Front was suppressed from the 1954 election.
