The Garden Of Desires
The Garden of Desires (russian: Сад желаний, Sad zhelaniy) is a 1987 Soviet drama film directed by Ali Hamroyev. Plot The film is set during the last summer before the Great Patriotic War. Three sisters are coming to stay with their grandmother in the village. They imagine the world as a vast and charming garden of desires and all members of the household are waiting for Asya's birthday. Asya has a sense of foreboding regarding the impending grief. Guests come to visit but none of them are her parents. She still does not know that her father was declared an enemy of the people, that tomorrow she will not see her mother and that the war is approaching. Ali Hamroyev (sometimes spelled Ali Khamrayev in English) ( uz, Ali Hamroyev, Али Ҳамроев; russian: Али Хамраев) (born May 19, 1937) is an Uzbek people, Uzbek actor, film director, screenwriter, and film producer. He is best known in the former Soviet Union for his works in the 1960s and 1970s. To date, Hamroyev has made over 30 documentary film, documentary and over 20 feature films. Sergey Valentinovich Kudryavtsev (russian: Серге́й Валенти́нович Кудря́вцев) is a Russian film critic and historian. He graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in 1978 and worked in the office of Soviet cinema at VGIK in 1980–1983. Kudryavtsev began his career as a film critic in 1973, when he was 17. He has published several books on Russian and world cinema, such as ''500 films'' (1991), ''+500'' (1994), ''The Last 500'' (1996), ''Our Cinema'' (1998), the personal film encyclopedia ''3500'' (2008). Galina Klimentevna Makarova (real name Agatha; be, Галіна Кліменцьеўна Макарава, russian: Галина Климентьевна Мака́рова; December 27, 1919 — September 28, 1993) was a Soviet and Belarusian stage and film actress. People's Artist of the USSR (1980). She was born in the Starobin village (now Salihorsk District, Minsk Region, Belarus). The first success on the stage came to her in 1954. She began to play in movies in 1958. Her first star role in film was the role of Aleksandra Matveyevna Gromova in the film ''Widows'' in 1976.
