"The Game" is a song by '' The Next Star'' contestant Alyssa Reid from her 2011 album '' The Game''. It is the title track of the album and the album's second single, as well as Alyssa's second most famous single, beat out by her previous single " Alone Again", officially released May 31, 2011. It was preceded by the album's lead single, "Alone Again", featuring P. Reign, which heavily sampled the 1987 Heart song " Alone", except included new verses and rap. "The Game" samples parts of the new verses of "Alone Again". A radio edit was made of the song, which replaced the parts sampled from "Alone Again" and replaced them with new, original material. A remix was made of the song, featuring JDiggz, and in the parts where Reid is singing her verses, the radio edit of the song is sampled. The song is known by fans as "wanted to be in the movie for the best-selling book ''The Hunger Games''". Alyssa Ashley Reid (born March 15, 1993) is a Canadian singer-songwriter. Her career began in 2008 on ''The Next Star''. She rose to fame in 2011, following the release of her single " Alone Again". From 2018-2020, she released music under the name ASHS. Early life Reid was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and raised in Brampton, Ontario. Her family moved around Canada often. Reid stated that it gave her the life experience she needed to enter the music industry. She is of Irish, Ukrainian and Greek heritage. She wrote her first song at the age of 7 and started vocal lessons at the age of 9. From then on, she has continued to develop her voice into what has become a singular vocal style. 3 Beat Productions is a British independent record label founded by Jon Barlow in 1989. History 3 Beat Music was founded as a dance music record shop in 1989 by Jon Barlow, Dave Nicholl, Phil Southall and later joined by Phil Beddard and Hywell Williams who were students at the time. It began as a second hand record stall in Quiggins, Liverpool and later moved into a permanent location on Wood Street where the shop was managed by Rob Jay and Pezz 3 Beat where it won numerous awards including Music Week's independent record shop of the year. Ceri Evans, better known as Sunship, is an English record producer, DJ, remixer and jazz pianist. Evans' musical career began in 1981 as a member of the jazz-funk band Swamp Children who released the album ''So Hot'' on Factory Records in 1982. He was an original member of acid jazz band the Brand New Heavies from 1985 until his departure from the group in 1992.
