Little Feat
Little Feat is an American rock band formed by lead vocalist and guitarist Lowell George and keyboardist Bill Payne in 1969 in Los Angeles. George disbanded the group because of creative differences shortly before his death in 1979. Surviving members re-formed Little Feat in 1987 and the band has remained active to the present. The band's music is a mixture of rock and roll, blues, country, R&B and jazz. Guitarist Jimmy Page stated that Little Feat was his favorite American band in a 1975 ''Rolling Stone'' interview. ''The Watt From Pedro Show'' is a music radio show and podcast hosted by bassist, vocalist and songwriter Mike Watt. ''NPR Playhouse'' was a series of radio dramas from National Public Radio. The series was a successor to the NPR series ''Earplay'' and was discontinued in September 2002. Beginning on March 1, 1981, the ''Playhouse'' production of the first of the ''Star Wars'' radio dramas, a 13-part 6½-hour version of the original ''Star Wars'' film, generated the largest response in NPR's history, with an audience averaging over 750,000 listeners per episode. David Edward Byrd
David Edward Byrd (born April 4, 1941) is an American graphic artist, designer, illustrator and painter. Many of his design are considered to have helped define the look of rock and roll music starting in the 1960s. He is most well known for his poster designs, including his rock posters for the Fillmore East as well as his Broadway theatre posters. Early life David Byrd was born April 4, 1941, in what is now Cleveland, Tennessee and was raised in Miami Beach, Florida. Education He graduated from Miami Beach High School in 1959, attended the Boston Museum School for a year and then Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he received a BFA in Painting and Design in 1964 and an MFA in Painting and Printmaking in 1966. Grunt Records was a vanity label founded in 1971 by Jefferson Airplane and distributed by RCA Records. Dave Herman (DJ)
Dave Herman (1936 – May 28, 2014) was an American disc jockey, popular in the New York metropolitan area from 1972 to 1998. Herman was born in Huntington, New York and was the son of an Orthodox rabbi. Herman began his career at 1410 WHTG in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and then moved to Philadelphia to become WMMR's first rock DJ. His show, dubbed The Marconi Experiment, debuted on April 29, 1968. The first song played on the show was " Flying" by The Beatles over the intro of which Herman recited these words: "Arise my heart, and fill your voice with music. For he who shares not dawn with his song, is one of the sons of ever darkness". He then moved to 95.5 WABC-FM in New York, which would later become WPLJ.
