The Fourth Commandment (1950 Film)
''The Fourth Commandment'' (German: ''Das vierte Gebot'') is a 1950 Austrian historical drama film directed by Eduard von Borsody and starring Attila Hörbiger, Dagny Servaes and Inge Egger.Fritsche p.238 It was shot at the Sievering Studios and on location in the Vienna Woods. The film's sets were designed by the art director Gustav Abel. It was released in West Germany the same year by Union Film. It is based in the 1878 play of the same name by Ludwig Anzengruber. Synopsis A once prosperous craftsman in late nineteenth century Vienna finds himself and his family in increasing financial difficulties due to the industrialisation that has damaged his business. Paul Aigner
Paul Stefan Aigner (23 May 1905 – 19 October 1984) was an Austrian marketing designer, portraitist and painter of female nudes. He is considered to be one of the most important graphic designers of the 1940s and 50s in Austria and Germany. Biography Aigner was born in 1905 in Vienna. Because he had no higher education, Aigner was denied admission to various Austrian art schools. He specialized in marketing design in Austria and Germany instead. World War II Aigner designed advertisement posters for consumer products and theatrical release posters for the Austrian and German cinema of the 1930s and 40s. Because he believed in apoliticism, Aigner was not a member of the nationalsocialistic artist association that practically ruled the Austrian and German advertisement markets of that time. Annie Rosar (May 17, 1888 – August 5, 1963) was an Austrian stage and film actress who is best remembered today for her appearances in many Austrian comedy films from the 1930s to the early 1960s. Alma Seidler
Alma Seidler (1 June 1899 – 8 December 1977) was an Austrian actress. She was member of the Burgtheater for over 50 years. Biography Alma Seidler was born in Leoben, the daughter of Ernst Seidler von Feuchtenegg. The later Burgtheater director Albert Heine was her teacher and sponsor. From 1918 to 1977, she was actress at the Burgtheater and made her debut in Ibsen's ''Wildente'' in 1919. Since 1960, she was honorary member of the Burgtheater. She also performed at the Salzburg Festival. Seidler was married to the Burgtheater actor and director , with whom she had a son. She died in Vienna on 8 December 1977 and is buried in a grave of honor at the Vienna Central Cemetery.
