The Foreshadowing (band)
The Foreshadowing is an Italian doom metal band with ambient influences.http://www.metalitalia.com/interviews/view.php?interview_pk=934Ritual n°35 pag. 34 History Origin The band was officially formed at the dawn of 2005, but the project was actually started back in 1998, from an idea of Alessandro Pace (aka Alex Vega), who involved his friends Andrea Chiodetti (guitar) and Francesco Sosto (keyboards) with the idea of starting up a new gothic doom metal band in the vein of My Dying Bride, Katatonia and Anathema, revisiting the sound of these bands in a modern key and with a personal style. Soon the trio was forced to put aside the project, as they could not find the right members to fill the band up. After a long period of other experiences in various band (Klimt 1918, Spiritual Front, Grimness), they rejoined again and found the spur to take in the old doom metal project again. Second World (album)
The Foreshadowing completed their third act of the apocalypse saga, ''Second World'', released on April 20, 2012, under Cyclone Empire Records. ''Second World'' combines cinematic atmospheres with doom-metal riffs. The album was mixed by Dan Swanö at Unisound Studios (Örebro, Sweden), while well-known artist Travis Smith worked on the album illustrations and design. The recording sessions were held at Outer Sound Studios in Rome with Giuseppe Orlando. Guitarist Alessandro Pace stated: "This is going to be, without any reasonable doubt, absolutely metal. We worked hard to step forward and gain our melodic side, while at the same time, we wrote the most groundbreaking rhythms we ever played. This is going to be an album with no compromises; it's going to be a blast!" Keyboardist Francesco Sosto commented: "With ''Second World,'' we wanted to demonstrate that our band knows how to use the work we did in the past, as the major source of inspiration for this work were our two pre ...

Russians (song)
"Russians" is a song by Sting, from his debut solo album, ''The Dream of the Blue Turtles'', released in June 1985, and released as a single in November. The song is a commentary and plea that criticises the then-dominant Cold War foreign policy and doctrine of mutual assured destruction (MAD) by the United States and the then existing Soviet Union. Background In 2010, Sting explained that the song was inspired by watching Soviet TV via inventor Ken Schaffer's satellite receiver at Columbia University: I had a friend at university who invented a way to steal the satellite signal from Russian TV. We'd have a few beers and climb this tiny staircase to watch Russian television... At that time of night we'd only get children's Russian television, like their "Sesame Street". I was impressed with the care and attention they gave to their children's programmes. I regret our current enemies haven't got the same ethics. Sting performed the song at the 1986 Grammy Awards. His performan ...

Low-priced "budget" models are produced by sub-contractors in Indonesia and China. Wayne Charvel eventually filed bankruptcy and sold his interest to Grover Jackson on November 10, 1978, which gave Jackson control of the Charvel name. Jackson Guitars originated in 1980 when guitarist Randy Rhoads approached the company with an idea for an individualized guitar. Allmusic
AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. In the early 1990s, as CDs replaced LPs as the dominant format for recorded music, Erlewine purchased what he thought was a CD of early recordings by Little Richard. After buying it he discovered it was a "flaccid latter-day rehash". Frustrated with the labeling, he researched using metadata to create a music guide. In 1990, in Big Rapids, Michigan, he founded ''All Music Guide' ...

Doom Metal
Doom metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that typically uses slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "thicker" or "heavier" sound than other heavy metal genres.K. Kahn-Harris, ''Extreme Metal: Music and Culture on the Edge'' (Berg Publishers, 2007), , p. 31. Both the music and the lyrics are intended to evoke a sense of despair, dread, and impending doom. The genre is strongly influenced by the early work of Black Sabbath, who formed a prototype for doom metal. During the first half of the 1980s, a number of bands such as Witchfinder General and Pagan Altar from England, American bands Pentagram, Saint Vitus, the Obsessed, Trouble, and Cirith Ungol, and Swedish band Candlemass defined doom metal as a distinct genre. Characteristics Instrumentation The electric guitar, bass guitar, and drum kit are the most common instruments used to play doom metal (although keyboards are sometimes used), but its structures are rooted in the same scales as in blues. Guit ...
